Overpriced: 12 dollars for a burger with no flavor. Have to order extra fries which are also overpriced based on the amount they give you. If you're dining in, you're going to feel rushed as the staff take away your trash about 30 seconds after your last bite. It's small, and loud, and very hard to have a conversation.

Great burgers with fast service. The cheese sauce is super tasty. Not fancy at all but a great place for a good quick bite.

They smash the burgers almost out of existence. I had a double patty and it was maybe half the thickness of a 'normal' burger. You order at the counter and they bring out your food, which was quick. It's hard to use the term ambiance with this restaurant - low-end college burger joint?

We ordered takeout last night on a recommendation. We were not disappointed. The smash burger was really good. I had the spicy chicken sandwich with the jalapeno slaw and fries. It is honestly the best chicken sandwich I have ever eaten. I can't wait to eat there again. We did not eat in, but we would like to eat on at some point.

I kept reading solid things about Moonlit, so when searching for a place to meet friends when I was back in town, I automatically went here. The Dormont location is conveniently located on their main street, and we had no issues finding street parking. The vibe is very casual, definitely like an upscale fast food restaurant. I loved the decor on the walls with various lunch trays - a super fun addition to the decor! The restaurant itself is decently sized, with a large bar and an ordering counter adjacent to the kitchen, plus ample seating. I'm uncertain when the separate bar is functioning (it wasn't open when we were there), but you can order / receive alcohol when ordering the rest of your food. We placed our orders at hte counter and found a spot to eat, not waiting too long before our meals were ready. My husband and I, as well as our friends, all went for local drafts on tap, which were solid and reasonably priced. I always love seeing local spots featured at restaurants! For eats, of course we focused on burgers. I got the Classic Moonlit Double, which featured their signature smash burger patties, griddled onions, cheese, and their homemade sauce, all enclosed in a potato bun. The beef was cooked appropriately, and I loved the sauce as a pairing! Potato buns hit different, so I loved that that was the vehicle of choice. I almost never would get a "double", but the patties are so thin that you have to get 2 to really optimize the flavor. Not venturing out for burgers often, I was super pleased with my choice and I thoroughly enjoyed the burger! My husband went for the bacon cheeseburger, having similar thoughts himself about his burger. We split an order of fries, which was plenty for us both. The shoestrings were perfectly fried and salted, nicely pairing with our burgers. Our friends enjoyed their meal too, getting very similar items as us. We stayed for a while to eat and catch up, and I really appreciated that no one tried to rush us out. Moonlit was a perfect spot to meet up with friends over a casual meal, and the burgers are definitely up there as the best in Pittsburgh. I would definitely visit Moonlit again to try more menu items and to get a milkshake with Millie's Ice Cream. Thanks for a great meal, Moonlit!

Vegetarian options: All of the burgers can have a vegetarian patty swapped.Kid-friendliness: There were lots of kids when I went but I wouldn't really recommend for kids. The only kids food item is a junior burger and the environment isn't really kid-friendly.

First time ever eating from this restaurant! As a person who has Celiac (a very HIGH intolerance), this was THEE BEST burger I’ve ever had!! The bun is DELICIOUS?! At first I was concerned that it wasn’t even a GF bun because it was SO soft and good- which if anyone knows anything about GF bread…that is not something one can usually say.I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone with a gluten issues.Dietary restrictions: GREAT option for anyone with gluten intolerance!

First time ever having a "smash" burger. Mine was more like a smash crisp burger. There's lots of veggies, not much of a burger. The bartender was quick and friendly. Little pricey for what we ordered.

The menu is limited but are good. The chicken sandwich was big and tasty. I opted out of the jalapeño topping. The smashburger was a hit with others in our party. The place is small with a wait time but tables turned over quick.

Just wow. Wish I could give this burger 6 stars! Not sure if I have ever eaten a burger this good. My date had the double bacon cheeseburger and I had the #4. Between bites the only thing we could talk about was how delicious the burger was. The service was super friendly and we had our food within 5 minutes of ordering. The smashed patties were perfectly cooked and a little crispy at the edges, but not at all dry. Toppings were fresh and tasty. The only thing I would skip was the fries. Fresh cut shoestrings and highly salted. Nothing wrong with them but just not my preference in fries. The bean salad or slaw next time, probably. Nice selection of beers and Cocktail specials. It's a small dining area but the service is quick and they're getting food out without delay. I can't wait to come back.

Okay I'm sorry that all the photos the food is half eaten but that's because the food is so delicious I forget to take photos. This place is our go-to for burgers in the city of Pittsburg. Well dormont really but you get the idea. The burgers are simple and excellent. For any expats from California the French fries here are just like the French fries at Carney's on the sunset strip and are delicious and salty. At the time I write this review an order of fries is $4 and I bet you could spread that between 3 to 4 people. They offer a full bar I haven't had any drinks there but it looks like it's pretty good. Now they do have milkshakes and the caramel vanilla whatever I get is really really good.If you need a quick relatively inexpensive and unpretentious meal this is it.Added bonus that this place makes its food super fast so you're not hanging out too long.
