Went in Saturday evening. The place was empty. My son and I tried to order 4 orders of meat sticks. The girl said we must order at least $20, and went back to her phone. No wonder your place is empty on Saturday evening. Boo, Mr. Egg. I hope you have to close down if that's how you treat customers.

My cat and I enjoyed the noodles.

Steam table hot pot - you choose your noodles, your ingredients and your soup base and they prepare it for you. Fresh ingredients are fairly limited - cabbage, book choy, lettuce and broccoli. Most of the ingredients are frozen processed foods. I, fortunately, love fish and tofu products smashed together together in all their glorious cake and patty forms. It is worth noting that the crazy hot soup base is primarily flavored with Szechuan peppercorn. An overall solid addition to Squirrel Hill, but not a shining star.

My soup came, leaking all through the bag... and it was more oil than broth... which made the flavor non exist and and stained my pants. The noodles were half cooked, soggy on the bottom of the separate container and under cooked on the top. I just haven't been able to find a good noodle dish in Pittsburgh. I miss the west coast.

Malatang has a strong MSG flavor and tastes very thirsty. Nothing special. Very ordinary. The braised flavor is also very average. The deodorization is not done well. The pig ears I bought have a strong, bad pig smell.

Great ingredients, awesome broth. Ask for a little bit of salt to make it perfect. Highly recommended.

Fresh, hot, and spicy!! So delicious and warming on a cold winter day and it’s also great in the summer with a nice cold beer! Delivery is always fast, and my order is correct and on time every time. This is NOT like regular soup, all of the broth is not meant to be eaten; this is Asian Hot Pot or MaLaTang, similar to French fondue, the broth the food cooks in is not meant to be eaten. Love Mr. Egg’s Kitchen and very glad this place opened around here for our authentic SPICY and HOT MaLaTang Hot Pot cravings!!

Noodle soup made to order and customizable. Let them know what ingredients, lvl of spiciness, and type of noodle you want.

Soo obsessed with their malatang broth! It's very flavorful with a nice kick of spice. Malatang is similar to hotpot, but everything is together in a bowl - you're own personal hotpot! I always crave it at least once a week and often make it at home but my broth is never as good as theirs. I like that the price isn't by weight and you can make your own bowl, Chiptole-style. The price is a little steep, ($16.79 for noodles, 5 meat + 5 veggies) but I think it's worth it for the amount of food. It's always a treat for me. Something that I enjoyed was that they put the noodles in a separate container with some broth, which means you get more food. It's always a silly moment when the workers speak Chinese to me but I can't respond back because I can't speak mandarin (lol).

Good service people were helpful but the food as a whole was just okay.
