I stay at the Embassy Suites a lot but have only dined in twice. The first time they nailed my order, but today, they left half the toppings off my salad....which didn't leave much. I got a house salad with salmon, and they only put olives on it, no cheese, no tomato. Green olives and balsamic didn't really pair well together on their own. Would have been nice to have some other flavors balancing them out. A $24 salad should at least come with all the toppings it advertises. Also ordered a cup of soup. That was not great. The salmon on the salad was cooked well though, so I appreciate that!

Have eaten there twice. Food was great. Service was awesome. The young man provided excellent service.

If you can grab a spot by a window, this place has beautiful views of downtown Pittsburgh. The chocolate cake was devine, and there is a cocktail menu with interesting options too. When I visited, service was slow due to lack of staff for the volume of customers, but the bartender who was working was attentive and doing her best to balance the abundance of customers. (It was right after a Steelers game).

The good is nice rooms, comfortable beds and nice breakfast. Did not see any cleaning staff in the hallways for the 2 nights I was there. Our shampoo, conditioner and soap bottles in the shower were empty. Drawers were filthy with hair in it. Someone put a pizza box in the hallway and it sat there for at least 24 hours. It still was there when we checked out. Makes you wonder if the sheets were changed between people. Also for a lot less money you can park your car at the Mellon Square Garage across from the hotel.

We stayed at this hotel when in Pittsburgh to visit my son. I chose it because it was a fairly easy bus ride for my son to join us for a visit. I was looking for a suite, a complimentary breakfast, and close proximity to my son. The Embassy Suites seemed to be the one; the rate was far more reasonable that other hotels in the area. Unfortunately I think I know why - while the hotel itself is very nice, on par with other Embassy Suites I’ve stayed at, the aggressive homeless people in the immediate area made me uncomfortable. The location was good, once I got away from that immediate area, lots to see on “the point”. My son doesn’t drive, but we were able to see and do lots in our short time, within walking distance. The rooms were typical embassy suites rooms, with the separate bedroom, good for us since one of us is an early riser. The bathroom could use a good detail cleaning (tile grout was gross), and lots of built up dust and crud on the floor next each side of the bathroom vanity. I had arranged for a late checkout, had the do not disturb sign up, but that was not evidently relayed to the housekeeping staff who entered our room while we were out to lunch. That was disturbing to say the least. In the future I’d likely try to find a hotel near the U district, much cleaner there, even if the rates are higher.

Great location if you are on your own for business. 12 min safe walk to PNC Park if Pirates are in town. 12 minute walk to PPG arena if an event (Penguins) are in town. Historic building that is updated. Spacious room, plenty of water pressure, standing shower, ample work space. My room over looked Melon park and most rooms are 14-24th floor (nice view). Climate control worked well and my room also had a wet bar area. Plenty of counter space in bathroom and ample linens. Hairdryer and ironing board. Standard WiFi supported TEAMs call. Parking is NOT attached, but just across street and inexpensive ($16 day). Valet is available. Embassy meals were very adequate (both breakfast and happy hour). Yuengling on tap. Tip - need key card to access your room floor (plenty of lifts).

This is an amazing hotel! Staff is super nice and the fitness center, pool and breakfast are amazing. Only problem is that the lobby is on the 25th floor which is odd, but other than that, the rooms are super spacious and nice and the food was amazing! It is also a 15 minute walk to PNC Park and the Heinz Center. Definitely recommend!

We spent 4 nights here during the last week of March. Typical Embassy Suites, you get a living room with a sleeper sofa and a bedroom. Both the BR and the living room have large flat screen tv with a decent selection of channels, suite also has a wet bar area. fridge and microwave plus a decent size bathroom. As other reviewers have mentioned, the suite did show some signs of wear and tear (i.e. some wallpaper peeling off the wall) but overall the suite was clean and comfortable. Free breakfast buffet included several hot items and a cooked to order egg/omelette station. We managed to have an adequate breakfast every morning. The hotel also has a happy hour with free cocktails from 5:30 p to 7:00 pm. We found the staff at both the breakfast and happy hour to be friendly. Hotel has an onsite restaurant....not a very large menu but we did eat dinner there one night and the both the food and waitress service were good. Hotel also has an indoor pool and while we did not have time to use it, the pool area did look very nice. Location is a mixed bag...on one hand there are alot of restaurants and sights within walking distance of the hotel...we walked from Hotel to the Heinz Museum, Point State Park (where the 3 rivers meet one another) and the Mononghela Incline tram. Downside of the location, which the hotel has no control over, is the fact that downtown Pittsburgh has alot of homeless people, drug addicts, and panhandlers. You do have to exercise common sense and be aware of your surroundings if you venture out at night. We personally never felt unsafe...the hotel occupies floors 15 through 25 of an office building and the ground floor does have a 24 hour security guard on duty, plus you have to swipe a room key to use the hotel elevators. Some of the other reviews I read mention rude, unhelpful front desk staff. We dealt with 3 front desk staff during our stay. 2 of the staff were okay, but the 3rd (woman who works the 3 to 11 shift, we never did confirm her name and she never introduced herself, her name might have been Jade but I'm not 100% sure) was downright unpleasant in tone and demeanor and also unhelpful. When we first checked in, we told this clerk we were a family and needed rooms close to each other. She assigned us to rooms 1603 and 1607 so we assumed these rooms were close together. Well, the floor plan of the hotel is quirky and it turns out that the 03 and 07 suites are essentially on opposite ends of the floor. We went back downstairs and spoke to the same clerk who checked us in and we asked to be put in suites that were closer together. this clerk responded that our rooms could not be changed, the hotel was sold out and there were no rooms of our type that were close together. I asked if she could go into the computer and try to find something, she stated that there was no need for her to look, the hotel was sold out and there were no other options. I asked her would it possible to get rooms close together if we upgraded our room type, her response was that if we upgrade we would have to be put on different floors. At this point it was clear from the tone of her voice that the desk clerk was quite annoyed so we left. The next morning, we spoke to a clerk named Jared.....he was able to accommodate our request and he did move us to a room that was closer to my mother in law's room. Not sure how it was that Jared had no problem assisting with our request while the 3-11 clerk made it clear she didn't want to hear it. On our 3rd day of the stay, we realized we needed some fresh towels and some plastic bags for the waste baskets (note that rooms are not service automatically, you have to request the service if you want your room made up) so at 4:30 pm I went to the front desk and spoke to the same unpleasant 3-11 clerk who had the attitude with us at check in, and I put in the request for the fresh towels and plastic bags. I pointed out that we had to leave for dinner at 5:30 and could they get these items to us before that time...the clerk responded by giving me a death stare and then mockingly

When I arrived they checked me in and sent me to my room, I promptly returned to lobby because the room was not what I had booked, they informed me that king bed rooms were sold out. I made this reservation 20 days before my stay, plenty of time to notify me as I would have gone somewhere else. The woman very rudely said two queen beds was an upgrade, not if you are too tall for a queen bed. I suspect they bumped me because I booked with credit card points and not cash.

The reception team is horrible. I had to deal with two of them and they don’t have the minimum standards of customer service. The room size was okay but don’t expect cleaning. You have to walk to the reception to ask for toilet papers and deal with the unwelcoming staff. It was overpriced comparing with other hotels in the area. I don’t recommend it for families because it’s located on a street that didn’t feel safe. There is an old dusty coffee machine, and you can’t use it because they don’t provide water.

The breakfast is awful. The eggs are powder and the bacon is a pile of grease. If you get an omelet, it'll be the worst omlet ever. I had a business stay of 5 days and could not make the first day. When I arrived the next day, the staff would not help me with the remaining four days and was told to re-book even though I stayed there 5 times in the calendar year

We had a ladies night & had it not been for the ladies I came with, I would have ask for money back. This hotel needs to be closed. The ceiling in the bathrooms have water damage. The tub look dirty & water does not run out, as if the tub is clogged up. They covered the hottub in the pool area, which is very disappointing. The staff does not have uniforms (everyone had on sweatpants). I'm truly disappointed. The breakfast was ok (very greasy sausage) & tiny cups for juice. Please shut down & renovate accordingly.

Hotel bar with full bar and like 8 beer taps. They serve food but possibly not every day. They may not even be open every day as it was last stay but not stay a couple months prior. Always have food service. Be patient as the bartender is usually an all in one person, especially later I'm evening.

My wife and I spent 4 nights in the Embassy Suites in downtown Pittsburgh. The rooms were large, clean, quiet, with a good bed for sleeping. The valet service to park your car was excellent, with superb customer service by the attendants. The breakfast buffet was OK. The omelet bar was great, but the other items were just so so.

The hotel is situated right in the downtown! Very lovely staff! Breakfast is amazing! Mr. James catered so well for me as I had special dietary requirements! The front desk is super helpful, check in was seamless and they had everything in order! Will stay again if I’m around in Pittsburg downtown
