This was my first and last time visiting this place. I love diners and hole in the walls. But I was sadly disappointed by my food. I ordered piergos, the turkey dinner special with green beans and mashed potatoes. The green beans were good for being the frozen kind. The piergos had no flavor other than butter and onions. The turkey was disgusting with absolutely no flavor with equally flavorless gravy. Under it was a mound of stuffing that had some sort of flavor that does not belong in stuffing. It was so gross i spit it out. My Dr pepper tasted like it was mixed with club soda. Over all it was just bad. My kid had pancakes with sausage and the sausage was tough and old. The bacon looked like it had been cooked hours ago and should be not served. The server kept rushing me to take my order and after I explained I've never been there before. I'm shocked these people are still in business..

A beautiful, typically American diner. The food is really good and the coffee too. I got two eggs with bacon and bread and two cups of coffee and paid just $11. The environment is warm and welcoming, it seems to be in an episode of happy days. Courteous and joking but not intrusive staff. A small note: it is not possible to pay by card so bring cash. Advised!

Asked for sunny side up and got over hard eggs, the potatoes were burnt as well. The spanakopita was awesome and the waitress was lovely though.

The food was good but not the best. A little above average. It felt like it wasn't quite worth it when we got the bill. Not that it was expensive it's just that I have had better value elsewhere for diner food. Having said that I had a gyro omelette and I have never seen that anywhere else. It was good! Just not as good as I expected. Over all it's nice and convenient near the hospital and a cut above hospital food by a good margin.

I truly wanted to love Ritters because I've heard multiple times that it's a Pittsburgh Staple..... and maybe it was a while ago, but definitely not anymore.Everything my husband and I ordered (and we tried quite a few things: Spanokopita, soup, meatloaf melt and a burger) was very clearly frozen, pre-made and potentially even a little off. The spanokopita was weirdly tangy and super greasy, the meatloaf sandwich was a strange little rectangle of frozen meat, and everything else was just kind of flavorless and stale. As for atmosphere, definitely outdated but unfortunately not in a cute retro way. Everything just seemed dated and a little dingy, the cute jukeboxes at each table are all broken, and the place as a whole very much smells like cigarettes and grease.Ultimately will not return and definitely would not reccomend to others as a "pittsburgh staple" as it definitely does not represent the food scene of this city.**Also important to mention that 2 out of 4 members of our party were POC and they did NOT feel comfortable. Service did not seem as friendly to them and many of the "regulars" seemed unhappy with their presence. You pay at the register up front when you leave, however when we got up from the table to go pay there was a comment made from someone pretty harshly (seemed like staff but no real uniform so cant be 100% sure) that we needed to pay before we left. Definitely rubbed us all the wrong way.

I just had my first visit to this charming establishment and it did not disappoint. I met a lovely stranger (Ken, who turned out to be a long time regular and knew a lot about the area) while parking so we ended up sitting next to eachother at the counter. The coffee was delish and the food came out quickly. Everything was perfectly made. The bacon and potatoes were crispy, just like I had asked for. The pancakes were exactly what you'd expect from a good diner, golden, fluffy and full of flavor. I highly recommend trying this place out and will definitely be back myself!

This was my first experience at Ritter's on Thursday, March 28 around noon. Barbara was our waitress and was phenomenal and welcoming, made the entire lunch party feel welcomed. Thank you for a great first time, looking forward to returning!

Classic diner. Tonight's service was a disaster. Water glass was dirty. Second glass was also dirty. No lemonade as no one knows how to replace the canister. Asked for a refill on the third glass of water (which wasn't dirty). She took the glass and never brought it back. No water for YOU! food took a long time to come out even though the place was empty. Just terrible.

I've been going to Ritters for over 25 years now. It's a regular family favorite! Good home cooked food at reasonable prices and served with a friendly smile.Dietary restrictions: There are a few gluten friendly options like the Greek Salad , Baked Cod dinner and Liver and Onions if you don't get the gravy. If you like Liver and Onions, try Ritters! The Coconut Cream Pie is pretty awesome as well.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp along the side of the building , accessible from their parking lot directly behind the restaurant . The door takes you into the back of the restaurant. The door is manual and is sometimes locked, but staff will unlock for you.

I've been coming for a year. Great atmosphere. Nice servers. When the young ladies are working, things are good. But with the older servers you will wait 15- 20 minutes for a simple coffee refill, even when the place is mostly empty. Pretty bad. Time to yank in the slack and get more vigilant, folks!
