While in the area I was craving Thai food and my friend mentioned she knew of a good place nearby. We stopped by around 1130 on a Sunday and it was almost empty when we got there. We were seated right away and ordered a bunch of different foods to share including mussamun curry, pad see ew, pad kee mow, Thai noodle soup, chicken satay, and Thai iced tea. I'd say everything was really good with the exception of the kee mow. It had veggies in it that I've never had in it before and I just didn't love it as much I have at other places. The mussamun was delicious and the noodle soup is something I've never had before but will definitely be on my radar from now on. The inside was nice, the staff was really friendly, and the food came out pretty quickly. Overall I thought it was a good experience and I would go back!

My friend and I traveled to Silk Elephant from Bethel Park. Three Reasons:: We love the Chicken Pad Thai.: We love the Thai Crab Bisque and Salmon Rolls: We love the Mango JuiceThe prices are so reasonable especially compared to how other restaurants have really spiked their prices. Service is always good. Hooray for them. Love giving them my business.

Decent Thai spot in squirrel hill with large portions of food. The tapas are good and I usually get the pad see ew. The service is a bit slow but they usually give complimentary spring rolls.

I normally come here fairly often and the food and service are both great. However tonight I didn’t get the chance to experience either as my girlfriend and I were asked to leave for bringing drinks from the nearby Tsaocaa. It felt odd to be turned away as someone who usually spends $60 or more every time I visit especially on a night where there weren’t a lot of patrons dining. Luckily another Thai place nearby was happy to serve us.I really enjoy Silk Elephant but tonight was very off putting. It seems odd to have a policy like this with so many drink and snack shops nearby. I guess if this is the policy I will happily spend my money at other places that don’t turn away paying customers.

Very popular Thai restaurant serving consistently good dishes. I particularly recommend the fried tofu starters, the Pad Kee Mow (Lemongrass), and the faux duck salad. Great for vegans and Vegetarians.

Great food and service, the spice and flavor was the best I have tasted in Pittsburgh. Definitely making it a date night spot with my wife.

The taro spring roll was very good with the sauce is excellent. The tom yum was average for me, it needs a little bit kick on spices. The papaya salad was good although having it with the grilled chicken and the sticky rice were a little bit off. The beef noodles kinda bland to me, we expected something sweet and spicy but instead it was just a beef broth not so flavorful and they threw slices of beef on it with some cilantro. The server was giving us good service and the atmosphere was cozy and on theme.

We've eaten here at least 30 times. We often do take out but also eat inside. The food is always fresh and delicious. We love the panaag curry and pumpkin curry. Also the fresh spring rolls. The red curry is also very good!

The service is quick, ambiance on point, Sapporo on draft, and the food is phenomenal. I've never had Tom Yum that tasted so perfectly balanced.

Would not recommend, slow service and bland food with uninspired flavors.

I will be buying the soup by the quart - minus the mushrooms (which if you Liv them, you'll be in 7th heaven!). I added chicken to it and it became a meal more than an appetizer.? The (salmon) dumplings and sauce were unusual in shape, however serve with a ginger sauce, yum. Definitely a new Sunday after church stops. Bringing the grands next time for dinner before I take them home. I will figure out how to bypass Forbes and the ice cream shops, our usual Sunday treat. Luv the Silk Elephant!Parking: It's Squirrel Hill. If you want to be there, you'll find parking. Walking is not a chore regardless of where you're going.Kid-friendliness: It appears to be kid friendly. I will be testing it out

Silk Elephant's food is very good--and, as others have noted, Thai tapas are incorporated into the menu, so they have a unique offering! They have a full bar by plus beer and wine. Recently I enjoyed the yuzu martini plus pumpkin masaman curry, which complemented one another well. The curry was rich in flavor. Service is efficient and food comes out quickly. While the restaurant is clean, it feels a little sparse inside. I'm sure this would be a fantastic takeout spot. It's Squirrel Hill so street parking on Murray Ave or a nearby side street would be the way to go if coming by car.
