“The food was amazing, such interesting combinations, very fresh and tasty. Loved the atmosphere. Price was very fair for what we had and as we weren't in a rush we were very happy. Sadly, only one staff member on the floor with occasional help from the kitchen staff. The poor girl was literally rushed off her feet. Not fair on her or the customers so please put an extra staff member on to help. I will return though... Thank you.“
“The lamb and rice was perfectly cooked. The seasonings and sauces were delicious. Turkish coffee and rice pudding for dessert were also excellent. The server was very nice and welcoming. It’s easy to recommend this place, you will not be disappointed.“
“This is our second time we live over two hours away in Northeast Ohio, And made the trip specifically for the pizza! It is so good. The crush is amazing. The overall taste takes me down memory lane we got the vegan pies. Be sure to give it a try 10 out of 10“
“We got to take advantage of the nice weather and sit on the patio, our server (also the owner?) was so kind and made us feel welcome. The food was incredible and very well portioned, we ended up taking home leftovers! We got the Karniyarik and Bosphorus mixed grill platter, plus dessert to take home (not pictured)Parking: We parked on a residential street nearbyWheelchair accessibility: There is a moderately tight entry, but lots of space between tables, flat ground“
“The way I describe Turkish food to people that haven’t discovered it is, “It’s a bit like Greek food… but seriously leveled up.”We came see a show in the theater district and found better Turkish food than we have in DC. The District may have a Turkish embassy but Pittsburgh has the food. They were seriously on point with our meal. Why should you trust me? My wife and I enjoy real Turkish meals all the time when we’re in Europe. This was the best Turkish food we’ve had in the states. For example: most places in America add unusual spices not common with the Döners we love. Pretty frustrating. Döners don’t need mint, cinnamon and other crazy spices. The lamb is the star.My wife immediately recognized their bread was baked fresh. When we talked to the owner about how great the meal was, he confirmed the bread was made in house. The Lahmacun (Turkish pizza) and my Döner wrap were incredible. My wife fell in love with their Adana kebab and the spinach pie.Pittsburgh is not known to be a food destination. If the Turks keep this up, it will.In a nutshell: Sultan Döner Kebab: it might be no frills dining… but we say, HIGHLY recommended.“
“A family run business on Babcock Road in the North Hills. They have a nice selection of menu options and desserts. I ordered a chicken gyro, and it was loaded with vegetable toppings. The desserts they offer looked delicious, but I did not try any this time.“
“Amazing food, atmosphere and service. Every time I’ve come here while they weren’t busy I’ve had very pleasant conversations with the waiter. Their breakfast is terrific and so is their dinner. Their desserts are also amazing; best baclava and rice pudding in the city. Only negative thing I can say is the price point, but even then - you pay for the experience and the vibe (which is certainly worth the price).“
“Really outstanding find here. I hope they stay in business for a very long time. I was not familiar with all the cuisines but everything appeared authentic made to order. The teas and coffees were not made from instant like other places. I was probably the only native English speaker there at the time — always a good sign.“
“I had the Hummus Bowl and it was delicious. My compliments to the chef, but the service was horrible. The person at the register was not nice. We told her it was our first time and her response was “there’s the menu”. We tried to ask her questions about the menu and at first she replied with one-word answers and then she left.“
“Great experience at Alihan's today! My friend and I ordered the iskander kebab and Turkish falafel. We really liked them both! The complementary bread is so soft and chewy. The ambience strikes a nice balance between classy and comfortable. We learned from the staff as they closed out for the evening that they had been understaffed. They were so pleasant and attentive that it didn't show! I highly recommend Alihan's for an all around positive experience.“
“The food was very delicious. We had the tabouleh & meat platter, it was so much food we took some home almost enough for a third person. The baklava was one of the best we have had, it reminded me of a baklava we had in Istanbul. The place does need some TLC but the food is amazing. I would definitely go back.“
“Stopped by a couple of weeks ago and had chicken shish and lamb kebabs. Both were perfectly done and very tasty. Both meals were so big we had more than enough Breakfast the next day. Very peaceful, nice music and comfortable chairs and tables in an otherwise simple dining room. Great service too. Will be back.“
