David the bartender is the rudest person I’ve ever met in customer service. He will argue w/ a customer even when they have walked away to say he is right. A friend of mine has a police report on a waitress who grabbed her phone and left scratch marks on her. The manager Conrad Flynn was aware of this and never contacted my friend. The manager (Conrad) lets the employees act however they want and does nothing. Food is ok and I’ve held meeting there before but not anymore. It’s Pottstown and this restaurant shows. Avoid and go somewhere else

Overall service was good and the beer was okay but the food was very underwhelming, my burger was overcooked and extremely bland tasting and the chicken on my partners salad had literally no seasoning/taste to it, very much not worth the prices.

Overpriced, sub par food. Unwelcoming atmosphere, very wannabe ironic hipster 2010's vibe. "The Rat" as the locals call it is clearly on its last legs

1st time and very disappointed!. Atmosphere was great. Service was terrible, under staffed for only 1/3 capacity. Only one waitress on the clock, she did her best no fault on her . Beer was just ok nothing to write home or leave home for. Food was not great. Had a burger that was incredibly over cooked however the cheese was somehow not even slightly melted. Tomatoes were ice cold, also the cooked pepper garnish on top was also ice cold. The "hand cut" fries were soggy and seemed like the bottom of the bag shrapnel you get from frozen fries. My girlfriend ordered a portabello wrap and boy for $16 did we get ripped off. 6 inch wrap with mostly spinach and not much mushroom or cheese . She did however enjoy the coleslaw. We were excited to try, and support a local brewery but i cannot say I will be back any time soon. Management and ownership need to get their act together. Cook staff needs to watch some more hecks kitchen .For a almost 100$ dinner out for 2 I was clearly not happy

Worst place for service. Sit at bar expecting to order some beers and decide what is growler worthy. The attitude serving us fills the growlers like he wants us to just leave.

They have great wait staff and a menu that appeals to almost anyone.

My husband and I went here for my birthday the man who served us (andrew i believe) was great kinda and compassionate. Would definitely recommend the food and drinks were great. It was such a nice night. There was a slight disturbance and it was handled with kindness and compassion. Can't recommend this place enough we will be back!

J.J. Ratigan Brewing Company is a brewery with a beautiful building at a great location. They have a great selection of beer and I was excited to try out their menu. Unfortunately, I may have caught them on an off day. I ordered a burger and they made a few mistakes: the bun wasn't toasted, the burger was overcooked (I ordered medium and got well done), and it was heavily sauced. The sauce was a little bland and created a messy experience. The service was a little slow. When asked for a beer recommendation the bartender responded with "I'm not a mind reader, here's the drink menu." Yikes. With that said, it does look like a good spot. One visit is usually not enough to get a full feel of a restaurant. I recommend lowering your expectations for food and using the building to socially drink with friends instead. I don't know the area too well and don't have another spot to recommend at this time.

Repeat trip to JJ Ratigans, usually a much better experience. Its Sunday, brunch is being served, and i was craving a Bloddy Mary. The people next to us ordered them, and it looked great. So i asked the bartender to make me a bloody mary, but extra spicey. A little extra horeraddish and black pepper to spice it up for me. The bartender said, and I quote "we dont do that here my friend. Its a pre-made mix, i just pour." I thought he was pulling my leg, but he was serious. So if you want other than a standard mix cocktail, crave an extra sprinkle of salt or pepper dont go to JJ Rattigans when Lewis is tending bar.

Massive space, with something for everyone. Stopped for a bite after a surprisingly long hike nearby. The chicken BALT was devoured in an embarrassingly quick time. I think it was good, but honestly I can't remember (I neglected to pack trail snacks). The fries had potential, but they were either old or just too greasy; in my ravenous state, I left them behind. I wouldn't recommend sitting at the far corner of the bar, unless you wanna hear all the staff tea (I hope that guy was able to get his keys out of his locked car... good to hear the server who didn't tip the bartender out the night before was coming in to make it right...) The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable with loads of hustle. He shared that there's live music every Fri and Sat upstairs and downstairs... revers HH downstairs (9-11), plus 2 pool tables and shuffleboard downstairs. Upstairs also had a shuffleboard table and the cool ring game (perfectly placed if there's a line at the ladies restroom). Bathroom was clean and stocked.Would be back, and highly recommend.

Nice local brewery! Had a swordfish burger and it was at a pretty reasonable price. Seemed like their most popular brew was out of stock, but the one I had was really good.

My husband and I had lunch with a friend. I ordered the fruit suit riot beer and hubby had a hazy IPA which I can't remember the name name. Friend ordered the pork sandwich which she said was very good. I ordered three portabella wrap. Both our sandwiches came with fries. My husband ordered wings and a soft pretzel. We all enjoyed our food and beers. The service was good. I really enjoyed the atmosphere also. Would definitely return again. Unfortunately, I was engrossed with conversation that I didn't think about taking any pictures.

Came with my husband for brunch. He got the Red Horse IPA and really enjoyed it. Chicken and biscuits was delicious! And so were the Biscuits and Gravy

Our first time here and had a wonderful evening(last Friday). Food, Service and Drinks were all great. Either management is doing something right in training staff here or they got lucky having people that still remember what seems to be the lost art of customer service and just being nice and helpful! ;-)We had two apps - Fried Cheese Curds and CheeseSteak Egg rolls (we like cheese) I have a high bar for cheese curds having first had them in Wisconsin (land of cheese) and the ones here were great. Cheese Steak EggRolls were also substantial in size and taste. Having filled up a bit on those we split an entree. We asked server for recommendations and went with surf and turf special. Steak was tender and flavorful and scallops and shrimp tasted fresh. For drinks i went with bourbon barrel nitro stout on tap and was very happy with that, and my wife had one of the specialty cocktails that she said was flavorful without being too sweet.Shout out to our server (Andrew) who again was helpful as well as cooking crew who despite being a busy night seemed to be turning out good fare. One other note, they had live music, not sure if that is regular thing on Friday but they played some great cover tunes. Music was loud but you could still carry on conversation (we were close to their stage). So giving this 5 stars, hope to go back soon and check out the downstairs where signs said they had a reverse happy hour a little later in evening. I'm a bit of a critic when it comes to my meals and service, but have to say they are doing something right here. hope return visit can live up to the first! ;-)

Was planning on having our office holiday party there, about 12 people. Emailed the account for group reservations about 3 weeks ahead of time. No response. Called a week ahead, told them we had a person who can't do stairs. Hostess said "should be no problem, but I'll have the manager call you." No call. Called 3 days ahead. Same thing. Showed up that evening. Got some attitude from the manager. Tried to seat us downstairs. Explained again that we had a person who can't do stairs. Eventually told us he could maybe seat us 20 minutes. We left. Gatsby's had a table ready for us when we arrived and were incredibly accommodating.
