Wednesday March 13th 2024First & last visit. Our waitress abandoned us (two person party) for several other large parties. Service was really slow. She brought out our meal & never checked on us. It was a $50 filet we asked for it to be medium rare & it was burnt. The vegetables were all MUSHY & way overcooked. By the time she came back, we had completed the meal (I would have sent it back if service was acceptable & she checked on us). After a horrible meal, she only took $10 off the check. Gee. Thanks.Crab dip appetizer was delicious but $20+ & extremely tiny.Gluten free options were limited but marked on the menu.We sat next to the fire, which was really nice & relaxing. Overall we enjoyed the atmosphere & lots of character in the building. However, it doesn't matter when service and food aren't good.

What a warm, charming, historic place. The live Irish session band music was wonderful. Our waitress was very hospitable and did a great job. The rooms are cozy and there was an active fire place near our table that gave the noisy room a bit of a homey touch. It was a good kind of noisy with the sounds of people talking and having an enjoyable time.I made a reservation online months in advance at the time I bought tickets to a show at the theater next door. I phoned the day before to confirm the reservation and make sure it was early enough that we could eat without rushing and still make it to the show on time. I was assured all was good. However, when we arrived it appeared clear that something was wrong with the reservation and we ended up waiting over 20 more minutes to get seated. The hostess was apologetic about the wait and in the end, although we had to eat quicker than we would have liked, we did get to the show on time. Reminded me of a Seinfeld episode. ?Why haven't I mentioned the food in a restaurant review? It wasn't really worth mentioning. My friends ordered shepherd's pie and my wife and I ordered the prime rib. Except for the toughness of the prime rib, the food was ok. The meat was flavorful and cooked to the temperature we requested, but the veggies were actually the star of the plate. The food was good, but not good enough to match the prices.Kudos to our waitress and the chef who cooked the side dishes!

We just had our Ladies Luncheon today and it was so nice! The last table did wait a long time for their food because their order was lost. But they got their food and all was good. A big thank you to owner Janice for the interesting talk about the Inn's history. So gracious of you to offer that nice added touch to our afternoon. Beautiful restaurant!Sincerely, Lorra SeymourSpring Valley VillageBechtelsville, PaVegetarian options: Beet Reuben

Great place to hang out and have a great drink or cocktail! Haven’t been here in years and it’s gotten better. Our bartender was absolutely fantastic with making our drinks and sociable.Location is tricky since it’s at the tiniest and narrow intersection of California Rd and route 313.Parking is very limited but there is a little more behind the building.Entering and exiting might be difficult depending on the time of day/night unfortunately.Menu has a good selection.Prices are reasonable.Staff is wonderful and very sociable.Service is great.Cleanliness is good.Overall it’s a wonderful place to have good food, good drinks and great service.

The cook and management should revisit the food taste and presentation. Competition exists.
