I had a great time at Skylight, my server Kevin was amazing! The food was amazing, my favorite plate was the Skylight Salmon Tropical. The bartender Monse was awesome as well.

Amazing food, cozy and friendly atmosphere. Best place to have a Dominican-style fried fish and a cold Presidente in Reading PA. Highly recommend it.

We had reservations for 5pm this past Saturday before a show at the Santander. Waited at the hostess desk for 15 min till someone appeared, I stated we had a reservation a 5 , she disappeared for another 5 min and then someone else came to seat us, we were seated without a welcome or acknowledgment other that “follow-me” once seated in a dingy dinning room we looked around and the 8-9 surrounding tables all had people with menus except one table that had drinks. Everyone looked frustrated. We sat for 15 minutes - no one came to the table… there was no staff and if there was, they were all hiding in the back. I looked to the bar and the bartender was making no efforts to at the very least get drinks to the tables.During this time a line of 8-10 other people formed at the door looking to have a meal before a show. You could overhear the same frustrations being stated at other tables that we had. We decided to cut our losses and we got up and left even though we knew our chances of getting food anywhere else would be impossible. The people at the door followed and I would be surprised if others did as well. We actually lucked out and found a brewery that bent over to accommodate us and were able to get a couple of drinks and some food in us before the show.

Visited the skylight this afternoon, I got there around 4:45, there were a few tables filled but not too busy. Took 15 minutes for a waitress to come by, took our drink orders and gave us menus, 25 minutes later she came back and asked us what we ordered, at that point we told her to cancel the order and left. Multiple tables around us received the same service.

I’m from out of town and came to visit my best friend. We decided to go to down town reading to eat. If you’re looking for authentic Dominican food this is the place to go. Service was great and atmosphere was nice. They currently just started to sell alcoholic beverages too. This place won’t disappoint so I suggest you stop by if your in the area.

We had dinner at the Skylight Cafe and Bar before a concert at the Santander Performing Art Center (within walking distance). Skylight is a family run restaurant that specializes in Latin American cuisine. There are a few Italian entrees on the menu too. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming. My wife had a grilled chicken Caesar salad and I had a marinated grilled skirt steak with a side of sweet plantains. We hadn’t had plantains before and they were wonderful. We shared the Tres Leches cake for dessert. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Skylight Cafe.

Truly, the place has super cozy rooms, a good atmosphere to share with family, friends and even group activities. For example: business events. But the most important thing is that you receive personalized attention directly from the place managers who are always providing a warm welcome.Parking: The Restaurant has parking available for its customers, and nearby there is a parking lot belonging to the City at a low cost, which facilitates access to the place without major setbacks.Kid-friendliness: The place is super cozy and has an outdoor area protected by perimeter fences, which guarantees a certain security for the children who attend the place.Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant also has access for disabled people who can enter with some ease.
