Commonwealth is a favorite of ours. There is one in Pittsburgh as well. The ambience, food and coffee is all good. Our latest trip revealed that commonwealth installed video machines, I think slots. Have to make a buck right? I do feel the ambience has changed though. Miss the coffee house music and vibe.

Such a nice cozy coffee shop! so comfy inside. Employees are very friendly and helpful. I ordered a Breakfast Banderita with roasted red peppers. DELICIOUS! Will definitely be ordering from here again and again :)

Super cute spot with some absolutely phenomenal smelling coffee. Interior is open and airy while still being inviting. Unfortunately, my iced matcha drink was very watery from the get-go. I ordered with almond milk, so it shouldn't have been that thin. Their food is fresh and made to order and smells amazing in the space.Dietary restrictions: Alternative milks available for those who can't have dairy.Parking: There is no parking lot here, just street parking. Depending on the time of day that block can get very busy.

My new go-to coffee shop in Scranton! It is conveniently located to most places I frequent.They have their own house blend coffee, and every other type out there for half the price! A cozy couch you can sit down on to read and relax... Some very cool items and handmade trinkets for sale as well... The food smelled deliciously tempting!

When I first saw this place I wasn't sure what kind of food they had the second time I want in order a sandwich took it home I was amazed it wasn't soggy like when you go and get a sandwich or sub from a sub shop everything on my sandwich was fresh the second sandwich was a tuna sandwich got it home it was the same as the first and not really expensive I'm gonna to keep going there a less once a week thank you

We came to Scranton on official business at the State office building and then we looked for a place nearby for coffee and food. We saw Starbucks nearby, but prefer to always go to a local place instead. What a fantastic choice the Commonwealth Coffeehouse was! It’s a clean, bright, airy place to eat and get some work done. Plus the owner was so helpful in explaining all the delicious choices on offer. We had a vanilla latte, a chai latte with oat milk, the incredible chicken noodle soup, and a very tasty chicken salad sandwich. The staff were very attentive, kind, and the place had a very welcoming vibe. We highly recommend it!
I had a warm welcome on 7/10/2023 as I visited Commonwealth Coffeehouse for breakfast. I had a coffee and a Bacon, Egg and Coopers Cheese sandwich on a brioche bun imported from a Canadian bakery, topped with a drizzle of Siracha sauce. It was great.The service was impeccable and warmly welcoming to everyone visiting.If you ever find yourself in downtown Scranton, stop by for a great coffee or bite to eat.

I had a delicious lunch today at Commonwealth Coffeehouse! The food was perfectly seasoned, well crafted and the staff was delightful. The atmosphere was very relaxing. I highly recommend Commonwealth Coffeehouse.
Great owner, great atmosphere, great food. Items are fresh and made to order. If you order via the Toast Takeout app for to go food, it's just as quick as Starbucks & much faster than ordering from Dunkin. They also have a rewards program! This is a great gem downtown & I highly recommend it.Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs & were welcoming when I came for breakfast with my toddler. However, they do have fragile decor and a soft atmosphere here.

I truly hate to do this as we have been here before and had no issues. Today, we ordered food and beverages. We clarified what we wanted to eat and one of the orders came out wrong. I honestly feel the young employees were distracted and because of that, the order was incorrect. Just disappointing.
