We going to a show at the Cultural Center and wanted to have dinner nearby. Sambuca was 2 blocks from the theater. We went here. Dinner was very good. Prices were reasonable. Service was exceptional. This was our first time here. We'll go back next time we're in Scranton.

I have NEVER had a bad meal here. The menu is expansive and is always well prepared and served. This is our favorite Scranton dining place. If you are traveling through, you cannot go wrong by stopping here!

Great place to establish. Sat the bar and ordered the bruratta cheese appetizer follows by caesar salad, had the tuna special cooked rare. Great dinner and Mia the bartender made great martinis. Have to go back.

Although I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the service was good, the experience was less than satisfying because of the atmosphere. Between a full house of people in a small room and the live entertainment, the noise level was way too loud. The more the piano played, the louder the voices of the guests got. In fact, the waiter had to ask the pianist to stop playing so she could hear us place our order . Again, the meal was great, but I was tempted to leave because I was so disturbed my the noise.

liked their vodka

Our food was delicious! They were short staffed because someone called off ...the front of the house was busy but they were fantastic! The two servers and one bus person worked together and didn't miss a beat! The music was great! Thanks for another wonderful experience! Highly recommend this restaurant!

Food was excellent!!! Service Terrific and the the staff very knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. They were aware when water glasses needed refilling or drinks were needed. The appetizer suggestions were fantastic. This a place we will definitely be going back to.

This was our second time there and they never disappoint. We had the Caesar salad with anchovies (my favorite item there) red snapper special, fried calamari, sole and shrimp francese, and shrimp parmigiana. Highly recommend and will certainly go back whenever I'm visiting my son at college.

Wow!!!I've been eating penne with vodka sauce for years. This was by far the best penne vodka I've ever had.Pasta was cooked perfectly, vodka sauce was excellent, and the peas and prosciutto were just icing on the cake!If I lived close to here, I would be here every night!

A nice little place that has been in the downtown for close to 20 years. You enter through the bar that is roomy while also having hightop tables. When entering main dining, the first thing we noticed was the piano player, which is a super-cool touch! He played some fun songs, including some of his own, cracked jokes, and also interacted with the crowd while not being intrusive at all. My wife and I each got a martini (Dirty Gin for her and Honey Nut Cheerio for me) and both were delicious. As an appetizer, we got Eggplant Melanzane, which was light, had great flavor, and a delicious vodka sauce. My better half had a Caesar salad with probably the best Caesar dressing we have ever had. I went with the gorgonzola salad that had a nice, tart raspberry vinaigrette. For our entrees, she had the chicken special, which featured thin chicken breast and portobello mushrooms in a port wine sauce, topped with gorgonzola. It was very earthy and deep, a worthy special. I had the Pollo Sambuca, which is the same thin chicken breast with shrimp and mushrooms in a creamy sambuca sauce. It was very flavorful and slightly sweet. The anise is there, but not distracting. This was a solid meal! Our server, Thellenza, was attentive and informative. She made sure we understood all of the specials and took care of anything we asked. The rest of the staff is also helpful, too, and we were never in need of anything for long at all. The adult beverages that we enjoyed were definitely tasty, we just wish they had more of a wine and beer selection. Food: 9 Service: 10 Atmosphere: 10 Adult Drink Selection: 8 Overall: 9.25

We visited this restaurant on a Tuesday night as quite a few places in downtown Scranton are closed that day. It was pretty busy and it looked as if a lot of locals were dining there. That is always a good sign. There was a generous list of house wines by the glass for $8.75 so I ordered a Sauvignon blanc and my husband ordered a Chianti. We also ordered a Caesar salad and sambuca salad along with entrees of penne soho and veal parm. A healthy serving of bread in a basket was also brought to our table. I would rate the service very good and the ambiance was cozy. The food was good and a nice sized portion but the bread was not warmed up and the penne soho had just 3 shrimp in the dish. There wasn't much flavor as well and I thought it could use some red pepper flakes or something to pep it up. I was glad that I took the server up on her offer of fresh Parmesan cheese. It could have even needed more than that. Overall we were happy with our dining experience and will come again.
