My absolute favorite restaurant. Food is so delicious, great atmosphere, staff is super friendly and professional. I’ve never had a bad meal at 16th Ward and I’m pretty sure I’ve tried everything on the menu. Highly recommend.

Hidden gem in Scranton. Excellent food, beer and service. Highly recommend… burger, pizza, dumplings and cheese steak. The dessert was also delicious and made by a local baker.

I was not impressed. The atmosphere is great. Just the kind of place I like, dark and moody. The wait staff was very nice. My problem was the food. It took a long time to get. I ordered the cheese platter and a Caesar salad. The cheese board was good, but how can you mess that up. The salad was the worst. It was small, bland, limp. It came dressed and the romaine was far from crunchy. For $4 more, I got grilled chicken on top. There was 1/4 of a half of a chicken breast that was so dry I could bang it off the table. I’ve eaten many Caesar salads. It’s one of my favorites. I was very sad. I tried adding a bit more dressing and it was still bad. For the price and size of that salad it should have the best I ever had. Bad first impression.

What an absolutely outstanding experience! The atmosphere is as cosy and inviting as a 1920s speakeasy, and the mustachioed mixologists sling craft cocktails, as well as a well-curated rotating set of draft beers, with abandon. Don’t let the charm distract you from the main event, however: the food! Everything we ate was a five star dish: the dumplings were soft and chewy with well-seasoned meat filling, the zakuska dip was an explosion of fresh flavors (and the zippy zaatar-coated homemade bread was the perfect complement), and we will be dreaming about the pizza, with its thin and chewy crust, umami-packed tomato sauce, and especially the sweet and deeply pungent garlic confit, for weeks! Best advice is to bring a group of family and friends so you can order one of everything from the menu.

We had a family gathering and it was just amazing! Dimitri went above and beyond to make this dinner a special experience! Out of 4 couples, we were the only ones who had dined there previously, our family were truly impressed! You did not disappoint Dimitri!! Thank you for your special attention to make this a great memory!

I’m sure the place it’s great, but update your hours and days open. Nothing better than a nice 1/2 mile stroll in the beautiful January Scranton weather to the place being closed.

The drinks are pretty good. The food is also decent. The staff and owner however are a group of the most miserable and rude group of people ever assembled under one roof. Go somewhere you can enjoy the food and feel welcomed and valued by the staff. Best of luck but we will not be back.
