I can't speak to new china as a sit down restaurant but for takeout 5/5. Been ordering from new china for a while. Probably about 10 times in 3 years now. As far as the quality compared to the other 3 American Asian restaurants in shrewsbury, they are always the best.The meat is better compared to other restaurants, especially the chicken. Other places the "chicken" was mostly breading and soggy. New China has tender chicken, food is always fresh and hot when we pick up, order is always correct, and the prices are fair for fairly large portions. Veggies are always steamed or sautéed to perfection. They are nice on the phone.

I ordered something I thought was szechuan but cooked in sticky brown gravy with no taste. Took it home and rinsed off pasty gravy so I could save it and it smelled horrible. YUK save your stomach and health and don't eat here. Wish I would have read reviews before eating here because I've read others with smelly unedible food and other scary things. Double YUK ???

I can't really speak to the atmosphere of the place because I never sit down there, but my family has been getting takeout from them for decades, and when I moved into the area a few years ago they introduced me. They've never gotten an order wrong, they're punctual, and they make very delicious food. My favorite dish is beef and broccoli, and since I like spicy food I always ask them to make it spicy; a good alternative if you're in the mood for seafood is shrimp and broccoli, again spicy. If you like spice, I highly recommend getting your favorite dish spicy because these guys always get it just right.Vegetarian options: You can get many dishes without any meat.Dietary restrictions: They cook pig here.

Food is almost always good. The last two visits the bags of fortune cookies and noodles smelled terrible of someone’s cologne. Even the fortune cookie bags had the smell on them. They are prepackaged but it is evident who ever is putting these together is not washing his hands. It is a nasty men’s cologne. Please make them wash their hand before handling any food.

This place is horrible! We placed our order and the guy taking the order didnt write it down, and kept talking over my uncle when he was ordering, so naturally the order was wrong. Then we returned them for the correct food, was charged more money, and the food was inedible. We bought fried won tons that were rock hard, the egg rolls were hard, the lo mein was hard. The order was still wrong and missing items and when we called back to complain they got an attitude about it. We brought the food back, and they argued me even though I showed them how rock hard it was. They only refunded a quarter of what we spent, but lesson learned.
