We went for the valentine’s day special menu, the food was excellent but unfortunately we had a horrible server, Terry, who made the entire experience very underwhelming. never once did she check on us or ask how everything was. between the bartender, the server’s assistant and and manager, they were basically doing all the work. it was not a busy night there were about 6 tables there including us and her service was terrible. not a personable person by any means and we were just another table she had to be bothered with. brought us an incorrect bill in the end and never bothered to come back, we had to ask someone else with assistance on getting it fixed. we really enjoyed the food but it was very unfortunate to have such poor service at such a nice place.

Dinner buffet was excellent! Also had breakfast there this morning and it was wonderful.

Went for breakfast, dinner, and buffet dinner (thanksgiving dinner). Breakfast buffet was better last year, now its similar to what you would find at a hilton hotel. Regular dinner was great, I recommend the octopus and their bread pudding dessert. Thanksgiving dinner was great, plenty of options and the spread was great.

– The service was outstanding, the staff were helpful, knowledgeable, and relatively prompt. Several parties arrived half an hour after us and our server disappeared for 20 minutes but upon his return all was well. They just need more staff is my guess. This was another case of everyone loved their meal except for the one picky eater whos opinion doesn’t count. His steak had “too much flavor”, but I think it tasted great. I had the Chilean seabass which was divine; foraged mushrooms were bland and a tiny serving for the price, but I threw them into the sea bass bowl and they soaked up the tasty liquids down there. The creamed spinach, while very tasty, needs to dial back the salt by a lot. Like, try half the salt. No one at our table could eat more than 2 bites. I would definitely dine here again. However their breakfast buffet is another story all together; the egg trough was overcooked and flavorless and the potatoes were undercooked every single day. Like seriously! Stop serving raw potatoes! They taste like they need another 10-15 minutes in an oven at 400F, or at least microwave them so they are cooked through cus they were just gross. The omelette station was pretty good, despite having one guy cooking he did so rather quickly with 4 pans going at once. The omelette makers need a raise. The servers were hit of miss getting coffee, water, etc i.e. 2 mornings the service was spectacular while two other mornings I got up and got water and coffee myself and was given side eye from the server. Well don’t make me wait 20 minutes for coffee which I asked for twice and he said right away and never came back. Thanks Lazaar.

Very inviting and comfortable atmosphere. All members of the dining area were very professional and personable. All the food was delicious and prepared perfectly.

We dined here twice during our stay, once for breakfast and once for dinner. The breakfast is a large buffet with an omelet station, they did not offer a menu or a la carte orders. It's a classic all you can eat style breakfast buffet, with eggs, fruit, bason, sausage, cereal, toast, rolls and a few sundry pastries. The food was very good, the buffet offered sufficient options, though not as exhaustive as we've seen in some hotels, the dining room is a lovely venue, and we were very satisfied. They charge $25 per person. It would have been appreciated if some of our lighter eaters could have ordered specific items. For dinner, our order for our party of six included:* FRENCH ONION SOUP $12 - Caramelized Onions, Sherry, Chicken Stock, Toast Points, Cave Aged Gruyere Cheese* BEET & CITRUS SALAD $13 - Baby Arugula, Goat Cheese, Toasted Hazelnuts, Yuzu Poppy Seed Dressing10 OZ. PRIME BONELESS STRIP STEAK $43 - Horseradish-Herb Butte* CHILEAN SEABASS $48 - Pan Seared, Orange-Gochugaru Chile, Mushroom & Miso Broth, Wok Fried Vegetables * JOYCE FARMS CHICKEN BREAST $28 - Herb Cheese & Spinach Stuffed, Foraged Mushrooms Demi-Glace, Yukon Gold Whipped Potatoes, Sautéed Haricot Verts Overall we enjoyed our dinners, the chicken was moist, the steaks cooked nicely, and the bass received positive review. The salad was a little overdressed, the French onion soup was happily consumed. We'd be happy to return here if we were in the area.

The food was excellent and so was the service. Lots of great options on the menu and it was hard to choose from. I found the briased ribs really good. Very kid friendly which is a plus.

It had been many years since I was last at Skytop, but we decided to drive there for dinner one cold winter's night. The dining room had been renovated with new comfortable chairs, but the lights were too bring and the renovation choices made the setting, which used to feel like the first class dining room on the Titanic, feel more like being on a modern cruise ship. The real problem was when the alt rock cover band started playing in the lobby and overwhelmed the classical/light jazz that was still playing in the dining room. They finally closed the doors (though we got up twice to do so that night despite being 30-40 feet from the main door). Every time the door did open it was like a wave until the doors closed and it reseeded back to a strong undertow. Don't get me wrong I like Coldplay as much as I like Coltrane I just don't want hear both at the same time. The menu was not that extensive especially considering a few ingredients seem to dominate multiple dishes. The salads were good with large portions served in even larger bowls. The risotto was gluey and comprised of inconsistently cooked arborio overall lacking in depth of flavor. At $100+ per person (we didnt drink much since we were not staying over and they didnt really try to have us order more) we were expecting a better experience and meal. The staff were very friendly and attentive, but glasses (including water) were left empty on the table for a long time. It's hard to not write a great review because it is clear they are trying; though it seems like they don't know if they are trying to be an elegant, fine dining setting or something trendy. Unfortunately trying to be both 1930s and 2020s results in it feeling more like the mid 1990s.Where they have succeeded, is the lobby and bar which were renovated since the last visit as well, but retained the old elegance and charm with restored fireplaces, and comfortable seating. Next time I think we would just go for drinks.

Breakfast - OK selection, buffet located very far from where you are seated, HORRIBLE service. Long lines every morning to get in, because the hostess takes forever to get people seated. I don't understand why the hostess process took as long as it did everywhere at Skytop, but it is painful and results in long lines. Also, the service is really bad; waiters walk around past you like you are invisible. One of the mornings, we literally sat there for 30 minutes before anyone came up asking if we wanted coffee or something else. Another morning, I had to get up to go get someone attention to get drinks; he looked very unhappy about being asked and only brought half of what I asked for.Dinner - not that special and highly overpriced. Service was much better at dinner, but the food was mediocre at best. Lakeview was a better choice for dinner.

While the lodge is beautiful and all the other experiences we had at Skytop were wonderful, the breakfast buffet at the Windsor Dining Room was a massive disappointment. I have had better scrambled eggs, home fries, and quiche just about anywhere. The eggs were dry and under-seasoned. The potatoes were barely cooked. The “quiche” was horrible. Service was pretty good. There are plenty of items on the buffet if you want to over pay for cut up fruit, yogurt, and pastries. If not, I recommend finding breakfast off property. Would not recommend.
