Arriving at the facility, we asked if they could accommodate a party of 20. They said yes, however we would have to separate tables. The checks were going to be accommodated however, that was not the case as we waited one hour after finishing our food to wait to receive our check. When trying to talk with the manager, he was Irrational and stated” we serve you food and you ate right” Groups Beware!!!

I've been traveling to State College regularly for years. I had no idea that American ale House existed. Found it when looking for a Sunday brunch spot, and was pleasantly surprised. Great brunch menu along with good looking lunch and dinner menu. Reasonable prices, quality food. Sunday bloody Mary bar as a bonus. Would definitely recommend and would definitely return

The cowboy steak sandwich was basically cold when I got it, the bottom bread piece was so soggy that I couldn't pick it up and eat it like a sandwich. This is probably a me problem, but I also couldn't bite through the steak pieces to again, eat it like you'd eat a sandwich. The fries that came with it were super low quality tasting and feeling. On the other hand, the drinks (margarita and beer) and the dessert (passion fruit cheesecake) were amazing!

Everything was delicious. The waiter gave us a little too much time to think, but overall it was a good service and we didn't have to wait too long on a busy Saturday afternoon. The Blistered Shishito Peppers were delicious. The cowboy steak sandwich was wonderful, as was the sweet potato waffle fries and the New England Lobster Roll.

The food is good. Recommend the Kobe beef sliders. I wish they had more standard bar food at the bar. Service was excellent.

Great food. Only weakness point is service. Have been there more than 10 times. They Did good job 8 times. First time had bad experience is the waitress looks like a student who work here and doesn't even care about us but the other experienced waitress work here is amazing. Second time, the waiter there has no problem but the front desk is not really in a good attitude, that day they got bunch of people so not taking everyone so well i saw others treated like us. However the food is really good there, worth the wait. Oysters are fresh and delicious. The menu changes due to different weather. Thumbs up for the kitchen.

The manager Emily Bate was the rudest person I’ve ever met. Never coming back.

Cool setting, great food, great waitstaff. Only reason for 4 star is lack of good selection of beer, surprisingly.
