They move to another place! I make a phone order today and they did NOT tell me they have moved. I have to go all the way to Cozy Thai to pick up my food. And I have to wait another 10 minutes because they missed one entree I ordered. Was one of my favorite place for lunch. Really disappointing this time

Since this place and sister restaurant Cozy Thai are really the only Thai restaurants in the area it's really unfortunate that it's just not very good. I want to love it but 5 years later I'm coming to the conclusion that I'm probably not going back again. It's not that the food tastes bad - it's just bland. No spice, no heat, nothing. It doesn't taste like Thai food. Or maybe they need to drown their foods in a bit more of their basil or lemongrass sauce so there's something that reminds you it's not just any Asian fusion fried rice or pan fried noodles - that this is a Thai restaurant. A few times a year I don't want to drive to the nearest city, but still want to satisfy my Thai cravings - so I go here. But I've never felt satisfied with the flavors. If you're really desperate for something slightly reminiscent of Thai food, go get your Pad Thai and Drunken Noodle here. Otherwise, maybe forget about getting Thai food.

My favorite place to eat in State College! Can never go wrong with the Spicy Basil Crispy Pork, but I will say I wish they made it spicier. I order Thai Spice every time and it is not very spicy (IMO). Love this place

DELICIOUS THAI FOOD! Due to the pandemic the Dining Area is not available. Carry Out and Deliveries are your only options at the moment. Friendly Staff!

Somewhat mixed feelings about the place. the quality is not very consistent. The pineapple fried rice is usually very good, but sometimes, they served me a reheated version of it. Basically, the style is good, but it wasn't made fresh.

One of my favorite lunch or take out spots in State College.

The place is super clean inside and the food comes out quick, hot and really good. What more could you ask for

Verdict: Galanga is one of those restaurants that you visit, not because the food is knock-your-socks off amazing, but because you want to get a quick kick of something you really want and this is the fastest way to get to it. I really love Galanga for its proximity to Penn State and to scratch the itch for Thai food that I sometimes have. However, the slight lack of execution and flavor development makes it hard to justify the $7-10 price tag that many if not all of the dishes have. Given the relatively cheap base cost of many of the dishes, there are better options nearby that are easier to justify their costs. Galanga isn't bad, but I recommend the farther but more established Cozy Thai if you have the time. The good: I really commend the quality of the ingredients used at Galanga. The restaurant pulls no stops when using fresh ingredients, and everything looks vibrant and lively. From my bowl of Chicken Pad Thai, you can see that the veggies are fresh--biting into them gave a satisfying crunch and none of them look wilted. I was really impressed by the good balance of sweet, sour, and pungent that Pad Thai has--One could identify every ingredient by its unique flavor. The bad: I was a little disappointed that the texture of the Pad Thai was a bit off the mark. The sauce was flavorful but really thick, so combined with al dente noodles made the dish tiring to eat. The restaurant also needs to better develop the flavors in their dishes to really elevate the food to be $8 worthy. There was an absence of saltiness or any spicy kick to the dish that would help cut through the sugars in the tamarind paste. The flavors were really well balanced in one aspect and lacking in another. Thankfully, the restaurant provides spicy chili paste which worked perfectly, but I wish that more salt was incorporated into the dish from the beginning.

As a more casual restaurant, this place is marvelous, and the very fast service does not diminish the quality of the food. Hands down my favorite Thai restaurant in PA

Has a smaller menu compared to its parent, Cozy Thai, but that means better quality. Their food is amazing and I have never been disappointed. The portions are also great and the price you pay for is well worth it.

You can casually enjoy Thai food. The photo shows Galanga garlic rice. A bit spicy, but it tastes great!!
