Lousy food good service but the food was average at best. They should reconsider changing their menu.

The place was very crowded but we had a very small wait time and once we were seated drinks and appetizers were brought out quickly and then our food all came out at once so everyone could eat together. Even though I ordered a steak and everyone else got burgers. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. The staff was very helpful and kept drinks coming. Overall, I highly recommend Quaker steak& lube and State college

I was hesitant to try this place after reading some of the reviews but I'm glad I did. Great place. Service was fast and friendly thanks Christy, food was very good and the atmosphere was fun. We had the Cheesesteak mlt and Buckeye BBQ wings both were very tasty and served hot. Also tried the Duck Duck Goose Marti I which was very tasty. Would definitely recommend this place.

They ruined my 50th birthday. My friend called ahead for a party of ten. Once there, the hostess went to check on a table for us. That is when a rude man came from the side and tells us they are too understaffed. It will be a very, very long wait? The hostess came right back. She tells us very nicely the wait would be longer than usual. She offered to come get us when the table was ready and took our name.We decided to wait at the bar. The bartender was also super. Over an hour went by, so my friend went to check on the wait. She finds we had been taken off the list. As my friend is apologizing and asking me if I want to wait longer, that man came over to us. He interrupted me, then started to argue, yell, and blame my friend for the problem. I took a good look at his name tag, and it turns out he is the Assistant Manager. Once he left, our bartender kept apologizing for him. She offered to take orders and serve all 10 of us at the bar, if we wanted. She even gave me a birthday shot on the house. We declined, paid for our drinks, tipped her well, and left hungry. After a few days, Quaker Steak Coorporate connected me with the equivalent of a regional manager. I told him what happened, it was to be a milestone, but I wasn't looking for any kind of compensation. I just wanted to tell someone why none of us will be going back anytime soon. I got the strangest response. The Regional asked me if I had a personal vandetta against the Asst. Manager who I/we had never met before. The Regional has all of my contact info. He promised to look into it and follow up with me. It has been over 6 months, and I am still waiting to hear back.If this how bad they treat customers, I don't want to know how bad it is in the kitchen?I can only hope the 5 star bartender and 5 star hostess have found better people to work for.Dietary restrictions: We did not have the opportunity to eat.Kid-friendliness: I would not recommend taking children here after this experience.

Great food, good drink selection, and an awesome environment for all the gear-heads out there. I highly recommend the garlic cheese curds, even if you aren't normally a fan of curds. Prices are fair in todays economy, with some decent specials depending on the day.

We've been stopping by this location for the last few years. I have had the garlic parmigiana bone in wings many many times. I had gave up on this here. We decided to go back today and like always I ordered the wings. They may very well be the best garlic parmigiana wings I've ever had in my life. I asked for the manager so that I could express to him how delicious they were. Our server told us that the guy cooking the wings was the best of the best. (and he was). I think he only works Tuesday - Thursday and leaves at 2:00. Gotta give this guy a chance. Absolutely perfect!

Manager and employees are very friendly. The wings and chicken are very good. However, they do not participate in some deal that other Quake and Steak's participate in. For being so close to a college town they would definitely make more money if they offered these deals. As a student I have suggested this place often but am always told by friends the wings are too expensive.

Visited a few weeks ago with family after a PSU hockey game. Our server was attentive, helpful, and thorough in taking our orders and rectifying some small errors when our food arrived, like missing sauces and the wrong kind of mac & cheese being delivered. The place was clean, and our food was fine. So why the two-star review? My partner and I watched the manger bring a food-grade container of crushed Oreos to the bar area. He reached into the cookies bare handed, scooped some out, and funneled them directly into his mouth... and then repeated. The hand that touched his mouth went back into the container of crushed Oreos. I had hoped that the cookies were out of date and on the way to the trash, but we could see the label on the side of the container and, from what we could see of the dates, they were not. If I have bad food or bad service at a restaurant, I usually just don't leave a review in case it was an off day for them, etc. However, when the person who runs the place is pawing food directly from the service container into his mouth, who are you going to report this health code violation to? In the hopes that other people can make informed choices about their dessert decisions at Quaker Steak & Lube, it seemed like a Yelp review was the only option.
