“Our first time trying this restaurant. Super friendly owner and super clean establishment. Authentic Mexican food.We both ordered La Unica Bowl with cochinita pulled pork. The food itself was extremely fresh and well prepared. However, the pulled pork was EXTREMELY salty. Burn your mouth kind of salty . It was so salty, it affected the enjoyment of the meal. Perhaps this was a mistake. We are willing to try again, but if this amount of salt is the norm, we will not be returning ?“

“I ordered a chimichanga. The main (just about only) reason I like them is because they are deep fried and crispy. Before I ordered I asked the server if they were nice and crispy and he said yes. Once the chimichanga arrived the very first bite at the end was crispy and the entire chimi was quite soggy as they had put a very watery salsa or sauce on top which instantly soaked in and made the whole thing soggy. It even ran around the sides and made the underside soggy as well. This ruined the entire experience for me.PS A chimichanga is a deep-fried burrito.Sorry for all of the "soggy".“

“6 years ago when they opened this place was good. now they don't give you any meat and charge you twice as much. i don't know if it is the same owner but I would be surprised if it is. just lots of rice in a burrito. barely any meat. cost way too much for what it you get.“

“I don’t know how after all of these years I have never left a five star review. El Tule is our all time favorite restaurant. Nothing else compares! It’s always fresh, delicious and full of flavor. The ceviche and lamb stew are my go-to’s. I usually don’t care to order guacamole out, preferring to make it myself but I always love it here.You really can’t go wrong with any of their dishes, although we tend to stick to more of the classic Peruvian meals. My son has been coming since he was a toddler and his favorite meal is the Aji De Gallina. Anytime we are near Lambertville we make a stop at El Tule. “Best shrimp enchiladas around. Guacamole was also very smooth and tasty. Flan was a perfect finisher. This place is in the middle of small town Hopewell so parking is on the street. Owner was on site preparing and serving and smiling. Seating was comfortable but on this chilly winter day with the side door opening regularly it was a bit chilly inside. Thankfully the hot seasoning (you can order your sauce mild medium or hot)was just right to keep my insides warm. Serving size was large enough to bring half home. Price was right. Definately a place to return to.“

“Shockingly good food and very authentic. The grilled meats are great. The macaroni salad served with some of the meals was unexpected but welcome. Ordering can be difficult due to language issues and because they were very busy. However, they were helpful and patient. Overall, glad I stopped here while in town.“

They have big chunks of well seasoned pork and a green sauce so delicious it'll make you upset you didn't come in sooner (I've gotten an order everytime i've gone). The empenadas and papusas deserve a shout out too. They have a steam table with tons of hot food and I'm on a quest to try it all, and so far everything has been delicious! There is no seating, but the service is fast and friendly, always with a smile. “Have been here several times and had prompt service. The Brussel sprouts taco is really REALLY good and my hands down favorite. I love that they offer a variety of different chips, which always seem well seasoned. My one complaint is the size of the chorizo queso and guacamole, given the price. There was barely any chorizo in the queso. Both are really small.“

“Adopting the identity of a sports bar and restaurant, Chapala II is still basically a two room suite, with beer and tequila in front and dining room in back next to the kitchen. It is a casual space with minimal decor aside from the HDTV high on the wall doing a Spanish version of sports television. When I walked in Friday afternoon for a late lunch, the main door was wide open, but there was no one inside. Still, the tube was showing an American football game with low volume commentary. Stepping over to the kitchen, there were two women getting ready to prepare something and I inquired whether I was in time for almuerzo. I was, indeed. One of the ladies pointed to a table and brought a menu for consideration. She explained that this was a Guatemaltecan casa and that she was the chef. I was talking to the right person. I didn't want a big meal, saw the quesadillas listed and requested them con pollo and horchata. She seemed pleased with my choice. Moments later the other woman delivered chips and salsa. Nothing special there. The quesadilla on the other hand was quite good. It was loaded with chopped chicken, cheese, pepper and onion and served seconds after taken out of the hot steel. The tortilla was crisp, with the runny cheese grilled firm from contact with the pan. The innards were a delicious gooey mess. It was so thick that it was almost quesadilla pie! About the best I've tasted. I should have stopped half way through, it was so filling, but I did not think that reheating would capture how great it was the first time. So, I skipped dinner and walked farther last night. The horchata came in a large mug used for draft beer. It was cool, semi-sweet with a hint of cinnamon and perfect as a washdown for the spicy main dish. Chapala Sports Bar & Resto is another fine, laid back Central American kitchen and bar in the heart of Jersey's capital city.“

It has a perfect viscosity and brought together the dishes. It's making me smile as I write about it.If I had to pick with them... I don't think pickled jalapeños are the way to go (on the torta).
