If ya know me, you'll be surprised that I tried a Jersey Mike's Sub. My families roots are in South Philly, we moved right over the bridge in the early 1970s to South Jersey, but I still frequent Philadelphia. We call Subs a Hoagie, and we make a compelling argument. I'll post the story below this review.I don't visit many chain restaurants because the local establishments in my local area are always far superior.I kept seeing the commercials with my Italian brother Danny Devito, and I trust Danny, so today I decided to give J.M.'s a try.Service and employees. 5 stars, these guys almost hit Chick-fil-A friendliness level!Cleanliness and appearance. 3 stars, not dirty but not spotless. I ate at the location. It was just "okay" as far as comfortable seating goes. The "Sub" 3 stars. First, let me say if I'm ever far from home and I'm craving a Hoagie and my only choice was a Wawa or a Jersey Mike's, I would 100% pick a Jersey Mike's I had tried Subway a long, long time ago, and in my opinion, Subway is awful beyond words, and I'm amazed they exist in Philadelphia or New Jersey. I had a Jersey Mike's Original, which is basically an Italian Hoagie. I asked them to hold the peperoni because I've never had a Hoagie with peperoni, and I didn't want the peperoni to affect my comparison and judgment as to what I personally enjoy about a Hoagie. The employee offered to add 1 slice of each meat since I didn't want peperoni. That was very thoughtful of him, and I accepted his offer. The taste wasn't bad at all, the meat was sliced to order, and the toppings were fresh.Look, if I lived in Alabama and never had a real Philadelphia Hoagie, Jersey Mike's would have received 5 stars. In my opinion, what Jersey Mike's could do that would make me enjoy their Sub would be,#1 If you have a location in the Northeast, then get the bread from a local bakery such as Liscio's. Even if it's an option to their store made bread. I understand because it's a chain. Every location has to be exactly the same, so that suggestion won't work. I'm not saying the roll was bad, but for me, it didn't have the slight crunch of a roll from a good bakery.#2 Don't cut the rolls completely in half. Cutting them completely in half makes for a messy Hoagie. I never had a Hoagie with the roll cut completely in half. It was a little bit of a fight to keep the ingredients in between the bread.I get defensive when I see restaurants that use the word Philly, Philadelphia, or Jersey in their names, especially if they are located in a state that's not PA. or NJ, but I think that Jersey Mike's does a good enough job representing the basics of a good Hoagie, so I give them my blessings to bare the word "Jersey" in their name. One legend of the origin of the hoagie sandwich is tied to Hog Island. Domenic Vitiello, professor of Urban Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, asserts that Italians working on Hog Island in the old Navy Yard introduced the sandwich, by putting various meat, cheese, and lettuce between two slices of bread. This became known as the "Hog Island" sandwich; hence, the "hoagie"

I like Jersey Mike's and we had been ordering from them more and more. But, they just totally ghosted my order, so after waiting 2.5 hours I just cancelled. Now, giving a low rating of course I can never order from them again. Plenty of places around to get a decent hoagie, think twice before ordering from this one.

My third visit to this store and I have to say, something has changed, and not for the better. Being from Philly, I know what a hoagie should be and this ain't it. Flavorless, not pleasing to the mouth bread with bitter tendencies somewhere in the Mike's way toppings, and a serious lack of cold cuts resulting in a Subway-like experience. I have to admit I am wondering what I evidently liked here previously, or what has changed.

Wawa who? I'm no hater of wawa by any means but if I ever want a good hoagie (sub), I'm making the drive here. They do NOT skimp on any ingredients. I went in on a Saturday at noon and the place was packed. I didn't order ahead, but with how busy they were I was expecting a wait. This place runs like a well oiled machine because I was in and out within 5-10 min. I got the club sub "Mike's Way" on white bread and my wife got ham and prov. Mike's Way is onions, lettuce, tomato, red wine vinegar, olive oil, and spices. It is delicious and everyone should try it that way at least once. The inside looks like a regular hoagie shop, but they make sure to keep the counters clean with each sandwich they make which is considerate. Everyone I encountered was very nice and accommodating. Like I said, these sandwiches are stacked with ingredients! Will def return.

The sandwiches are fine. My issue is ever time I’m in there I feel like I’m in boot camp getting yelled at. There’s a weird vibe and I think it’s actually the manager.

It's never a bad day at Jersey Mike's!•Every one of the employees has a stellar, upbeat attitude.•When you order your hoagie or wrap, they slice the meat as they make your order. Everything is that fresh and awesome.•The venue is always immaculate.Parking: Plenty of parking between Jersey Mike's and Rita's Water Ice.

Was ok. Only came cuz of a coupon. Cheese steak was over cooked so my gf hated it and wouldn't eat it. I wish I checked it before I left. The Club sub was tasty. Wanted longer than expected to get food and get out of there.

Ordered seeded rolls for 2 sandwiches I ordered. Got it home and they were hard unseeded rolls. I called them & the guy tells me they ran out. Tell me that when I order. Nothing worse than getting home & it's not what you ordered. I don't recommend this Jersey Mike's. I wouldn't go back.

I love you guys and I know you have new people working there. They all need to slow down and get the orders correct. I ordered a #7 with bacon tonight. I didnt get tomatoes nor the bacon, which I paid for as an addition, but I did get pickles which I didnt order. I know you can do better.
