I had an advanced special request for the bakery and my experience was fantastic! So friendly and accommodating and although I did not try one of their cakes, I can say that if the quality is the same as the bread I ordered, the cakes are guaranteed to be divine. My order was packaged beautifully and included a cute write up of the tradition of barm brack along with the charms for me to add to the loaf. The personal touches like that and the care that went into my order made my day.I will definitely be back again to try one of their cakes.

So delicious! First bite you will find that it is made with the finest ingredients. Highly recommend these cakes for all occasions, and the smaller personal cake size are perfect for baby shower, wedding, birthday favors. My personal favorite is the Butterscotch w semi sweet chocolate!!

I am doubly blessed. First, I am blessed to know the Wonderful, and Kind Aunt of this Talented Baker.. and, Secondly, each Christmas she blesses me with a MacDougall's Irish Victory Cake. This year it was a "Dassie". I would have taken a photo of it, but there isn't enough of it left to look as appetizing as it really is. I tried to save it for company, but I started by just slicing a VERY thin piece...you could hardly even notice....to have with a cup of tea in the late afternoon...just to hold me over until dinner. That was the delicious beginning of this year's Victory Cake. Today a friend shared one of the last pieces of this luscious cake over a cup of Assam Tea. When she asked for the ordering information, I remembered the card that came with the cake. Now I don't have to wait until next Christmas to indulge in a truly delicious treat. I think I have just solved all my birthday/anniversary/congratulations/and Christmas presents for a long while. Yes, all the things they say about the freshness, the local ingredients, and the fascinating history are true. But, my favorite fact is that it is deeeeeeelicious! Thanks Deb, Annette, and all the MacDougall clan.

Oh my goodness. I just had my first Irish Victory Cake; it was Irish Cream and the best cake I have ever tasted in my life. Total freshness and made by hand with no preservatives, you must try these. I was fortunate enough to watch them being made. When you buy the Irish Victory Cakes, you will not be getting frozen cakes that are defrosted. Everything is made fresh. Order online on their website OR find them at the Artisans' Exchange in West Chester, PA - it's an indoor farmers market, filled with many things organic, gluten free with no preservatives and chemicals that hurt us so much. Try the Irish Cream one. You won't be sorry.

I completely forgot about these. I must've had the little cakes back in April when they were set up at the Downingtown Skating Rink for a day. The baker/lady/person was very kind and informative. I got a short history lesson of the cakes. I got two old/stale ones that weren't sold from the previous time or store. These were at a discount, like dirt cheap. She said to microwave it and it will be good as fresh. It was amazing. I can't imagine how good the fresh ones would've tasted. I can vouch for the other reviewer. Actually I thank him for reminding me. Unfortunately I've been at school about 150 miles away but I still have the little flyer I received on my fridge door. It's refrigerator worthy.

I'm a s***** for good cake...MacDougall's Irish Victory Cake's has made a me a fan! I recently purchased a living social deal and ordered a Dassie's traditional cake from MacDougall's. I setup a pickup time for my cake and then met the baker, Deb, at MacDougall's in the Artisan's Exchange in West Chester. If you don't know what the exchange is, its basically an indoor farmers market, but also has the space the vendors rent to make their goods...Many of the vendors at your local farmers market rent space here to bakecookpackage all the goodies they sell...Check it out Saturday's from 10-2... artisanexchangewcpa.com but...back to the cakes... Deb is obviously proud of the goods they serve and offered to show me around MacDougall's bakery! They have 2 delicious cakes...Massie's and Dassie's...Massie's is a traditional sweet butter cake...great with a cup of coffee! But Dassie's...which is Massie's cake with Wilbur chocolate buds and butterscotch chips baked within and then melted and drizzled on top...is what I'm all about! I actually intended to get the Massie's cake, because i wanted to sample the cake without the additional flavors...but when I saw the Dassie I couldn't resist...I actually ended up leaving with one of each! The Dassie's cake didn't last the day! It was fantastic and I will be ordering another soon! I took the Massie's cake to work and let my coworkers try some...Buttery and delicious! Too bad its in the middle of a heat wave because this would go great with a cup of hot chocolate! These cakes, if wrapped tight, can be stored in the freezer for up to 6 months! I put my Massie's in from Saturday till Monday AM, and it was great a couple hours later...The Dassie's cake was particularly good after microwaving for a few seconds! I'm a big fan and will be going back soon, check them out next time you are in West Chester at the Artisan Exchange!
