Came here for my birthday brunch and the food did not disappoint! There were a decent amount of vegetarian options to choose from. My sandwich was a good sized portion and was delicious, and the cocktail I had was excellent. They came out very quickly too. It’s cute inside, but my only complaint is that the tables are very very close together so we were kind of uncomfortably close to other guests. I’d be interested in checking out the patio next time.

Roots has some of the BEST food and service in the entire area. Everyone knows it too so it gets pretty crammed in there haha. Everything is soooo good. We've gone multiple times and tried various meals; Everything is great!

This past Saturday two girlfriends and I had a really lovely brunch here. Since it was a Saturday there was a long wait but it was totally worth it! The hosts were very kind and helpful. Once we got to our table our waitress was really sweet and attentive. We all ordered mocktails which were delicious! We shared the scrapple fries, which were life changing. I am a huge fan of scrapple and loved seeing how much it was incorporated into the menu. Our food came out really quickly and was absolutely delicious. Overall we had a lovely time there! Will definitely be coming back :)

The service is always great and so is the food. One of the best little niche restaurants west Chester has to offer. You won't be disappointed if you go for any meal they offer. Always delicious and fresh.

I really wanted to love this place. I went for my birthday brunch and it was underwhelming. My partner and I got bloody Mary’s, the pretzel croissants, the scrapple fries and sausage hash and nothing was outstanding. It may have just been overshadowed by the server loudly complaining in ear shot of the dining room of the tips the last table gave him and his pay was not enough. This is then followed by their hostess who just cleaned tables with windex seating a table in the middle of the main entrance to their dining room, making it impossible to enter or exit the room without disturbing the table. I believe that our service industry should be paid better but I also don’t want to hear you shouting about it being in another part of the dining room when we were prepared to pay you more than the 20%.We will most likely not be heading back as there are many wonderful places in West Chester and I’m sure they won’t miss our business.

A Breakfast Haven Nestled in the heart of West Chester, this charming breakfast spot, should be known for its delightful exquisite assortment of eggs Benedict's. It has quickly become a personal favorite. From the moment you step in, the inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee and sizzling bacon captivates your senses, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience. The menu boasts a tantalizing array of options, but the stars of the show are undoubtedly the French toast bites and eggs benedict. The French toast bites, the perfect breakfast appetizer, had a perfect balance of golden crispness on the outside and pillowy softness within, arrives adorned with a generous dusting of powdered sugar, fresh cut strawberries, blueberries, and a side of luscious cinnamon glaze syrup. Each bite is a symphony of flavors, a comforting embrace for the taste buds. As for the eggs benedict, they are nothing short of a masterpiece. The poached eggs, when pierced, reveal a velvety yolk that cascades over the perfectly seared thick cut scrapple and English muffin, all elegantly draped in a velvety blanket of sausage gravy. The marriage of textures and flavors is a testament to the chef's culinary prowess. The atmosphere is equally enchanting, with sunlight streaming through the windows, casting a warm glow over the cozy, rustic decor. The attentive staff and welcoming Roots team adds to the welcoming ambiance, ensuring that every visit feels like a cherished indulgence. Whether you're craving a sweet, syrup-drenched delight or a savory, indulgent classic, this breakfast spot is a haven for all breakfast enthusiasts. Each visit is a reminder of the beauty found in simplicity, executed with unparalleled finesse.

A yummy and casual place for brunch! Went here with a friend on a Tuesday morning and there was no wait. I loved the inside a lot, kind of reminded me of an old farm almost? Very clean and the lighting was warm on a rainy day. I think the upstairs has a place for local sales, I didn't go up there but I saw a sign for it. The pretzel croissants were SO delicious!! Never tried a dish like that and it was unique and yummy. Everything else was also tasty but nothing out of the ordinary. It's a bit pricey for what you're getting in my opinion, but I guess that is also West Chester in general. Would love to come back here for breakfast/brunch with my family.

The food was very good. My son picked this place to have his birthday lunch. We had the hot chicken sandwich and we both enjoyed it.

Roots cafe may be the best brunch spot in West Chester. The decor and ambiance is so cozy and rustic with all the wood furniture and all the decorations. The food is also top notch. today i had their country fried chicken and it was so good. the chicken was fried well and the sausage gravy is so flavorful and coats the chicken so well. The potatoes are also the best i've ever had being perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and with the just right amount of salt. The only downside was that biscuit was cold in the middle but still tasted very good with the gravy and chicken. My girlfriend got the french toast bites and it may be the best french toast i've ever had. Each bite was crispy and soft with the right amount of sweetness, reminding almost of a perfect cinnamon toast crunch. Our server was also amazing and came by often to check up on us. Love this place.

Genuinely the best brunch in town. I've always been able to easily get a table and the rotating menu is always in season and so tasty.
