Picked this as a random meetup place for a friend driving through. It was Ah-maze-ing! I wasn't a huge fan of the "wings" .. but they were good. the texture wasn't expected but the flavor was perfect. I had the philly philly mushroom cheese steak. BAYBEE!! I think that may be my new go to for a cheesesteak. I kid you not. It was awesome. My friend loved the wings and had the crabcake. For dessert... we actually ordered the pineapple upside-down pancake. With icecream. Not sure what voodoo they do but this is bot your average vegan place.

Airport quality at airport prices. There are so many amazing vegan restaurants in Philadelphia, this place should be last on your list of vegan restaurants to try. Absolutely revolting. We started with the buffalo wings and mozzarella sticks. The buffalo wings had a decent flavor, but the wings had the texture of a microwaved sponge. The buffalo wings were served on a bed of lettuce, and it was honestly the oldest, droopiest, flimsy lettuce I've ever seen come out of a restaurant kitchen. The blue cheese sauce, however, was spot on. As for the mozzarella sticks, the texture of the inside could only be described as phlegmy. We couldn't finish either dish. Our main course was a Nashville chicken sandwich and a breakfast burrito. The sandwich was truly grotesque. It was thickly covered in what I could only describe as a chipotle aioli. I've honestly never seen this much sauce on a sandwich before. The chicken replacement was just like the wings, chewy, not crispy, and soggy. The sandwich came with the same extremely old lettuce that was served with the wings. Honestly, this lettuce was like wet toilet paper. It also had an extremely mealy tomato, and was clearly not-fresh. There was also something on this sandwich that really made it taste bad. I don’t know what the flavor was, but it really didn’t work in this sandwich. As for the breakfast burrito, it was fine. The flavor was decent, but not very complex. Again, the texture wasn’t pleasant. It was a uniform texture with the consistency of soft scrambled eggs. It’s a breakfast burrito, add something with some crunch in there like a jalapeno or radish or something. It was also served with potatoes. The potatoes were obviously pre-prepared frozen potatoes that the restaurant just warmed up. They were devoid of any suggestion of flavor. They’re potatoes—how in the world does a vegan restaurant screw up potatoes?Again, we didn’t finish either dish, and didn’t ask for a box. There was definitely a theme with all of these: nary a fresh ingredient to be found. I don’t understand how someone can run a vegan restaurant and not serve fresh ingredients. Mind boggling.I think the server sensed we were less than thrilled with the experience since we ordered a lot of food, didn't finish a single dish, and didn't ask for it to be boxed up. She sent out a birthday-cake cheesecake. That was actually pretty good and a nice gesture, but didn’t really make up for an otherwise foul dining experience.During the meal we also got a pistachio milkshake and cherry tea. The cherry tea was great. The pistachio milkshake was fine, except it overwhelming tasted like artificial coconut. Personally, that flavor isn’t for me, so I wish they gave a heads up that the base component of the milkshake is coconut flavored. But that’s more personal preference than a quality issue.Service was great. Staff was warm and friendly without being overbearing. But let’s talk about those prices. The prices are ridiculous. $20+ for a mediocre sandwich? I don’t even understand how this is possible considering there are no fresh ingredients, and everything was warmed-up prepacked food. There are so many excellent vegan options in Philadelphia, this ain’t one of em.

Food was amazing! A lot of good flavor and the portion size was great! We just did a random stop in Philly & I looked up the closest Vegan spot, I didn't know what we would get. The shamrock shake was the real deal. Even though I'm from NY I hope to find my way back one day. The wait time is a little long but overall a very cool place.

The restaurant says it's open but when we arrived they were closed. I drove a very far distance.

Oh my goodness… Chef Reeky is a magician!! We’re SO lucky we found this restaurant after taking a tour at Swarthmore College (just a 5 min drive away). Everything we ordered was amazing, and we spent most of the meal feeling like there was no way our food was entirely plant-based… but it was! Order the nachos to share, and I recommend anything that has the marinara sauce on it… it’s 4 hours later and I’m still thinking about that sauce…. The “chicken” parm sandwich with spinach was unreal! Service was excellent, too… what a treat!

I’ve been here a handful of times, today being the very last. From the moment you enter the horrendous parking lot, you can count on scraping your rear bumper on the way in (and out). The tight, limited parking lot is littered with aggressive signs about being towed if you park in front of the laundromat or dry cleaners. Good luck finding a spot on a moderately busy day, as I had to park next to the laundromat and spend the entire time worrying about getting towed. Fun. I brought my disabled mother who had to trek across the horrible sidewalk covered in broken, jagged, steel cellar doors. Finally we make it to Cheezy Vegan and sit down at the most wobbly table I’ve ever encountered. I asked the woman behind the counter if I could swap that table for another. She kindly replaced my table with an equally janky, wobbly table except this one seems to spin pretty freely. I swear these people were trolling me. The staff gave me a single menu for 2 adults, so I had to go track down another. The staff stood around doing nothing the entire time. I waited 20 minutes for a waitress to take my order before walking up to ask if I was supposed to order at the counter or what was going on. The same woman told me, “no, we come to you”. Finally a waitress came to take my order and lacked any type of customer service skills and had the personality of a raw potato. The rest of the staff was equally as bland and useless. I asked for some small plates for our lukewarm, yet overcooked appetizers that I eventually had to go track down myself after seeing the same girl standing around, still doing nothing. The rest of our food took nearly forever to finally show up, also cold. Aside from the atrocious staff and mediocre food, the restroom is located down a flight of sketchy wooden steps from medieval times. Has a very dungeon-like vibe on the descent, and is a massive accident waiting to happen. The restroom is completely off limits to anyone with physical limitations. I want to say that this place was better when it was Frankie’s… but to be honest, it wasn’t. They were also pretty bad. I love the idea of what they used to do and what they currently do, but the level incompetence is off the charts, the location is the worst imaginable, and the food is far too expensive to be showing up cold. I was hoping for a nice lunch out with my mother but it wasn’t. It was a VERY painful experience, front to back. I want to support my local businesses that support my own values, but this operation is a massive, sad and pathetic flop. Cheezy Vegan is officially a thing of the past for me.

Such a good place! I’ve been vegan for 17 years and this place hands down has the best vegan wings. They are crispy and saucy, very delicious! The sweet potato fries are soooo good too and I’m normally not that big of a fan of sweet potatoes. Brought my non-vegan family here and they loved everything. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and it’s a relaxing atmosphere. Give this place a try and you will not be disappointed!

I miss the movie star pics from the former iteration, Frankie's on Fairmount, but otherwise this place was just what my friend and I wanted one day recently. There's a wide range on the menu. my friend said her spinach and mushroom omelette was the best she ever had, and she's not given to exaggeration. I had a totally yummy crab cake sandwich. We'll definitely be back! BTW, the parking is still awkward but we knew that, can't see what could be done about it ‍

We stopped for lunch at 11AM on a Friday and were the only ones there since they had just opened. It was hard to choose between so many yummy options! I did miss the movie star pics on the wall from when it was Frankie’s and I loved their breakfast but this was excellent. My friend said her mushroom spinach omelette was “The best I’ve ever had” And my crab cake sandwich was so yummy. We gave into temptation and took home zucchini bread and a chocolate torte from the grab-and-go refrigerator display. Glad this is close, we’ll be back!
