They had the A team staff working. We are regulars and they were familiar with our usual order. Bo wait with reservations and food was out quickly. Extra salsa cups are up to $1 each but worth it. Best salsa in York.

Food is decent South American cuisine with a minor upscale touch. Price is slightly high for what you receive. The ambiance of the Lancaster location is much better and justifies the price. Service was excellent.

We have always gone to the El Serrano in Lancaster but decided to try the one in York and we were not disappointed! Our waitress was very friendly and attentive and the food was great!! Our drinks were good, not too strong nor watered down. The only drawback that my husband had was that they didn't serve the regular beer that he likes, they only had a select few kinds but that is not something that would deter us from going back!

We typically get orders to go, even a simple chips and salsa, but thoroughly enjoyed our most recent in-house dining experience. The server was fantastic and the food was fresh and extremely tasty!

Went for chili rellenos and was told they could not get a supply of poblano peppers anywhere! Disappointed... So we had enchiladas and they were so so. Margaritas were ok. A bit noisy in there. Chairs are uncomfortable.

Food is excellent and the service is quick and friendly! I've liked everything I've tried so far. Their Fresh and Dirty margaritas are the best margaritas I've had, hands down!

Ten of us came there after church. I suggested we all eat there. After we were finished eating a couple of our friends said “good choice”. All ten said their food was very good. Waitress was very attentive.

Not good. Didnt even eat there. Had 7:30 reservation and they asked us to wait another 30 min to 45 min and we were only party of 3. So we left and ate next door at the Paddock. Better food and no wait.

We had a reservation at 6:45, sat at 7:15 and server didn't come to our table until 7:30. Had to ask for a few things several times. Service was very sweet, I think she was fairly new. We've been many times, service has definitely not been great recently.

We go to El Serrano regularly. The food is great, perfect serving sizes for our family. Save room for the fried ice cream! And the salsa is so good we take a container to go. The servers do a great job.

Our server was not attentive to our table. Others coming in after us had eaten and were leaving as we had just gotten our food served. We had to ask several times for things needed. It was frustrating.

Tara was our server she's fabulous at her job! We had the best service!! She was very attentive and kind. Couldn't have asked for better service!! El serrano is on our top 5 restaurants. The food was good overall. Two entrees you could tell we're ready before the others. Was a bit dry, but still ok. Great atmosphere. Serrano margarita was so delicious!!

We used Tripadvisor to find the restaurant as we traveled thru York. The food lived up to it's billing as Peruvian. We ordered the salmon and the tilapia which were served hot and had great taste and flavor. The portions were sized appropriately.

Food was bland. Certainly no “Mexican” flair to it. Wife's chimichanga and my tortilla looked identical when served and were way too doughy. Best I could say for the Spanish rice is it was yellow. Again bland...no Spanish flair or flavor.

The exterior of the restaurant doesn't look like anything special but the interior vibe is pretty neat. From the textured walls to the Spanish style dining chairs, you really feel transported out of York! The food however, did not meet our expectations. Personally I think the dishes are overpriced for the quantity and quality received. The Yuccas appetizer was $9 for just four small pieces of fried yucca, drizzled with a mayo sauce. We ordered a second appetizer, Gambas al Ajillo. $10 may be reasonable considering it's seafood, but the French bread slices could have been larger and the five shrimps were a bit over cooked. The Lomo Saltado was $23 and consisted of mostly onions. I will say the beef was tender but after a few motions of chewing, there was no flavor. I was surprised to see that cilantro wasn't used, as it is part of the traditional way of preparing Lomo. Moving on to Enchiladas; the red sauce traditionally poured on top was non-existent. Now I do realize there are green sauce enchiladas, but the menu didn't specify that and as you can see from the photos, where's the sauce? They were stuffed with a generous portion of shredded chicken, sadly though, that was dry. The best thing? The green hot sauce! It was the only thing that tasted truly Peruvian! Oh, the free chips and salsa were pretty good too. Overall, we were excited to try out this restaurant but were disappointed in the lack of the authenticity of the food. There's always room for improvement though and I hope El Serrano will make an effort to do better!
