I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!! Excellent food, excellent customer service and even the chef came out to meet us. You do not want to miss this one!!Parking: Because I'm not too familiar with Downtown York, it was a little bit of a challenge to find parking, but now that I'm aware of it, I know where to park.

Fantastic food a great service. The drinks (mango mojito and Chai martini) were so good. The owner came to our table and exuded hospitality.Adding an update: Dinner was again delicious. Some of what we had: the shrimp appetizer, fish curry, the Indo Chicken, and a Mango Martini. The personal touch of being checked on by the owner and chef is unmatched in downtown York.
If you haven't had Indian food in a long while, I highly recommend. The people make the place. They're very helpful.It was the first time I've had Indian food in maybe 30 years. This is not because I don't like it, but rather I don't know what I'm doing. I don't know what dishes I might like, don't know what to eat it with. I'm just a local clueless resident. Our server was so kind, empathetic, and, this was a weird one, seemed genuinely invested in us enjoying ourselves. Can't say I ever wrote than in a restaurant review before, and I've wrote a couple.My highlight was to meet the owner/manager who greeted us at the table after our order was in and stopped by again after the food was on the table to get our feedback.Now, I've been to the fanciest and divey-est of places on the east coast. And this place had all the wonderfulness that you find in the people at the dives (when it's slow anyway lol), and all pleasantness, propriety and high standards of a fancy spot. The presentation was amazing in my opinion.My takeaway was that the owner is a very genteel man and I really enjoyed meeting such a nice guy grinding out his living. My wife says he's very well known across the county for his involvement in the community. I never heard myself, so I could tell ya. But, he was one of the warmest restauranteurs I've met. Much higher quality experience than what you expect to get in York County on the whole (if you know what I mean ? )Hey. And I just finished the leftovers uhh nine? days later. Obviously I didn't do the math on that before I ate it. But it was still amazing! I just have been nibbling on them here and there because its all about the flavor. Had a wonderful dinner here! The food was prepared correctly, quickly, and was delicious and our drinks were well made. What really stood out was the service! Our server was very helpful: making sure understood the menu, gave samples of the different sauces, and was prompt/polite. When they found out we were celebrating my birthday, the owner came out to wish me a happy birthday, gave a birthday dessert, and a large sparkler. I was very impressed! We have enjoyed eating here in the past, and will certainly continue to do so. If you are worried about spice, don't be. You can select the spice level from basically nothing to hot.

My husband and I enjoyed our first dinner here on our anniversary. It was amazing. Hamir came out personally during our dinner and welcomed us and made sure we were happy with our experience. His presence says so much about him. Patient, genuine, intentional and engaged with his service and his customers.For this reason I chose to have him cater my husbands birthday gathering. Our guests loved his food of course and everyone’s favorite was his signature chai tea. I cannot recommend Hamir’s enough. Don’t pass this place up ???
