Food was delicious and the young lady at the counter was very nice. Small local place with good food. I got the $9 medium tray of Jerk chicken, white rice (with spicy gravy on too), and baked mac & cheese. Also got cocoa bread for $2. All of it was good and filling. I'll be back to frequent this place more often when I come through York, PA.

They make a good curry chicken and jerk chicken! I had both several times and never disappoints. Good food and nice portions for a good price. One of the better kept secret spots for food downtown in my book.

Just finished lunch here with my boyfriend and I'm so glad we decided to turn around after passing by to give this place a try. We ordered the oxtail, curry goat and jerk chicken; Mac and cheese, cabbage and rice and peas for sides. We were not only not disappointed, it was so mouthwatering delicious, we will be making a 70 minute trip just to have this again in the near future. It's THAT good.

I vacationed in Jamaica years ago. Since then, I have been searching for some authentic Jamaican food. Well, I found it. I have eaten here many times and I get the Jerk chicken every time. The rice and peas is really good. My absolute favorite is the baked macaroni and cheese. Not a fancy place at all. They are not located in the best section of town. Still, you should check them out.

Found this place on YELP and was hoping the food would be similar to what we had on our vacation in Jamaica a few years ago. We were not disappointed. The food was amazing. The jerk chicken was as good or maybe even better, the jerk salmon melted in your mouth. We also got the rice and beans with a side of jerk sauce, cabbage and plantains. All very delicious. The owner even gave us a sampling of their roasted chicken which was equally delicious. Only negative about this place was very little parking, but well worth the trouble. We will definitely be coming back on our next trip to the York area.

Wow! I had driven by this place a couple times and was always intrigued. I went in for lunch today and came out a believer! Island Spice is for real. I had the Jerk Chicken with rice and peas and the steamed cabbage and carrots, all for $9! The jerk chicken was well-spiced and fell off the bone. Plus the woman behind the counter offered to chop it and then topped it with the house jerk sauce. Delicious. Both the sides were excellent, with the cabbage steamed (and braised?) perfectly. It was soft but still had a little crunch. The rice and peas also did the job (and the jerk sauce on there didn't hurt!) The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. I'll definitely be back for more take out and I'll try eating in sometime too.
I LOVE Jamaican Food, and this place does it right. Jerked chicken to die for, awesome goat curry, plantains, all the usuals, and the chef (he's definitely a CHEF, not just a cook) is from Jamaica bringing incredible authenticity to this little hole in the wall. Don't miss!!!

Delicious Jamaican food!! We have been their twice had curry goat, jerk chicken, and curry chicken - huge portions; wonderfully spiced and so much amazing flavor. Prices are really affordable as well. Please go to this great restaurant you will love it.
