“Great place for Chinese fondue. The laksa broth is delicious and flavorful! Lots of choice of proteins and vegetables in the “all you can eat” formula, good quality products too. There are also noodles, dumplings, dumplings and tofu in the choices. Bar for sauces, salads and desserts. There is a choice of table with individual broths or with larger broths with separators. Note that the time to eat is two hours. Only downside: almost all interactions are in English, more French would be appreciated! Excellent quality & quantity/price ratio, to try if you like Asian dishes!“

“The food is really good, only one vegetarian option. The vegetarian noodle soup is amazing because the boulion is really silky, creamy and the mushrooms inside is moist and with a lot of flavour. The cucumber salad is so crunchy and flavoury with nuts, oil and chilli. The only thing that the egg is not enough marinated. Thank you for fresh noodles ?“

“As I am a soup dumpling or XLB connoisseur that has sought out these delicious treasures across the United States and internationally, these were a delight. So much more variety than your standard XLB restaurant and only 2/3 the cost. If you have a chance, you should go here.“

We saw him running around all night and kept a smile the whole time which we really appreciated. I Go there often and never disappointed by their amazing dumplings!! by far my favourite place for dumplings“

“The best Chinese restaurant! Everything was very good, but I particularly loved their General Tao and Mapo Tofu. The General Tao was large chunks of very well seasoned meat with a crispy breading. The Mapo Tofu was very fragrant with typical Sichuan spices. A must-see restaurant!“

“After several unsuccessful attempts, we finally found the flavors of the Orchid de China restaurant which was located on Peel and closed for several years. Our favorite dishes (Dumplings with peanut butter sauce, Szechuan-style sautéed shrimp, fish with lemon sauce, chicken with crispy spinach, not to mention the mocha ice cream cake) are just as delicious as in the old times...Lovers of Szechuan cuisine, don't miss this.“

“very good dumplings. it doesn't look like a restaurant it's more like an apartment that someone invites u into and u order food and eat. the chili oil is very spicy. do not add more than 1 tbsp if u want to live. the grandma making the dumplings is so cute but also resembles a robot. my only gripe is that there's not more chicken options for the dumplings. also that they don't have hot and sour soup. also it's kinda expensive.“

“The seafood was incredibly fresh, the presentation of all dishes beautiful and our server, Yin, was helpful and attentive. Our daughter has a peanut allergy and she was really great about going over ingredients with us. It was a great place to grab a quieter (maybe not well know, YET) dinner and still have fabulous food.“

“great place to take your white friends and feel a bit culturally superior to them but then feel a profound sadness when they watch you eat a soup dumpling so they know how to 'do it right.' i dont understand what tiktok has done to people its just a soup dumpling just dont be an idiot about it. anyways i always walk away from sammi and soupe with both my stomach and my wallet full. reminds me of a simpler time before i became friends with white people.“

“Compact, tucked away wonton shop with some of the best wonton soup in downtown! Spice level of their spicy wonton is perfect, hearty and fresh, perfect for winter.Tables and chairs are clean and plain, but the cracked walls and storage boxes in the corner make it seem a little worse for wear. But what it lacks in atmosphere it makes up for in taste! Servings contain around 8 wonton but feels like more with how big each are! Highly recommend for a snack or light lunch in between classes or errands!“

“I love Beijing Dumpling and I like to go there often. Their soupy dumplings are next level! They stop the dine-in facility after 8:30ish pm and only allow take out but if you see on maps, it shows that they are open till 9:30pm which is technically true but you can’t sit there and eat and enjoy :(“

“Small quaint restaurant with no frills. Sechuan dumplings were 10/10, the laksa I'd say 9/10. Next time more dumplings ? my mom got the braised salmon and it was insane. ??Vegetarian options: There were lots of vegetarian options, most dishes come with tofu as an option, as well as 2 choices of veggie dumplings ?“

“The best beef noodles in Montreal. The taste is very authentic and the service is extremely friendly. We just passed by this place after having a French lunch and went into this restaurant for a delicious meal. The soup is salty and light, and the beef portion and texture are just right. The Roujiamo tastes neither dry nor woody, and is very smooth. The side dishes are also delicious. The best thing is the warm and hospitable waiters. Made us feel at home. Every time I come to Mengcheng in the future, I will definitely visit this restaurant.“

“Love this place so much! I went here with my family and it was so good. I got M9 with the pork and my family got beef and soup. Personally, I love the pork. It was the best dish ever and my whole family wanted MY pork instead of ordering their own. That goes to show how good it is. When you are going to dine in or do take out, get the pork“

“Very good dumplings! But they're often out of the vegan options! Also I ordered the vegan "pizza" option and they put cheese on it, dairy cheese, and a good thing I doubled checked and ask because they indeed put real cheese... Odd since it's explicitly written vegan. Anyways, for the rest, I love their tofu dumplings they're the best in town in my opinion!!! Also I recommend the peanut butter noodles soooo yummy! I recommend this place for great dumplings!“

“Cash only $$ - this place has been around for many years. Inflation seems to not have affect the place at all.The owner is working pretty much alone, don't expect a super fast food service. “We heard a lot about this place and needed tl try it for ourselves. Ordered the chicken dumplings, lamb cumin broad noodles and Three in One oil spilled noodles. The dumplings were good, nothing outstanding but a good appetizer, the lamb cumin noodles were good too but the Three in One was my favorite, an explosion of flavor and spicy like I like. Got there on a tuesday evening and the place was empty. Service was a little slow and the waitress did not attend our table, we had to get our cutlery and sauces ourselves. That was the only downside.“

“I've been frequenting the Noodle Factory off and on for years, drawn repeatedly by its straightforward charm and delectable offerings. Nestled in the heart of Montreal's vibrant Chinatown, this no-frills eatery has carved out a niche for itself, serving up tasty dishes at an unbeatable value.Upon entering, one can't help but notice the restaurant's modest dimensions. The space is somewhat cramped, a testament to its bustling activity rather than any lack of foresight. While not expansive, the setting is adequate, fostering a cozy atmosphere that puts the focus squarely on the food. The staff, adhering to the establishment's no-frills approach, provide the basic level of service necessary to facilitate your meal. This minimalist approach to service underscores the restaurant's commitment to offering a low-cost dining experience, prioritizing the quality and affordability of the food above all else. However, it's important to note that the Noodle Factory may not be accessible to everyone, as it currently does not provide wheelchair access due to the absence of a ramp. This limitation is a significant oversight that the establishment should address to welcome a broader clientele. The menu at Noodle Factory stands out for its generous portion sizes that leave customers satisfied. The dishes, while simple, are prepared in a way that brings out a richness of flavor, ensuring a delightful dining experience. The cost of dining here is surprisingly low, making it a go-to spot for those seeking a satisfying meal without breaking the bank.Be mindful that the restaurant operates on a cash-only basis. While this may require a bit of planning ahead, the dining rewards are well worth this minor inconvenience. In sum, the Noodle Factory stands as a testament to the simple pleasure of good food served without pretense. While it may benefit from a few logistical improvements, its commitment to providing a cost-effective dining experience, alongside the satisfying culinary offerings, ensures its place as a beloved fixture in Montreal's dining scene. Whether you're a long-time patron or a curious newcomer, the Noodle Factory promises a dining experience that's both satisfying and memorable, all while keeping your wallet happy.“

“Hole in the wall place, almost literally. They only take cash or e-transfer (not sure what that is honestly). There are two menus, one for meat and one for meals with rice. I opted for a two meat combo with crispy pork and crispy duck (which added $2 to my bill, alongside rice and a few pieces of marinated cabbage. The restaurant itself is so small that there aren't any tables or chairs so I got it to go, went back to my hotel, and enjoyed a delicious meal. After a roughly 20 minute ride back to my hotel, the skin on the meat was still crispy and everything was still warm. The meat was moist and flavorful with the perfect amount of both sweet and savory with quite the pronounced hint of Chinese five-spice. The meal is incredibly simple but done very well. The restaurant is a bit of a shock upon first glance but the staff are incredibly kind.“

“They offer a wide selection of choice, the mala based soup is a bit spicy but not overpowering the other flavors. The only downside is two of the vegetables I picked had a sour taste even though they just brought them to the shelf while I picked my ingredients. I understand it’s hard to make sure everything is 100% fresh, but that one or two items that are not ruin the whole experience. Better quality control needed for sure.“

“Ji Chang Fun is one of my Cantonese favourites -- stuff my mom and grandmother used to make, that I delighted in. I frankly can't be bother to make it -- actually, I have almost no idea of even where to start. So Ji Chang Fun is my go to for this delightful food when I'm feeling the need for old school ji chang fun and congee. The food here is very authentic -- relatively inexpensive, quick service, and like most authentic Chinese restaurants leaves a little to be desired with respect to atmosphere. But it's pretty reasonably priced.Have the beef/shrimp and Chinese cabbage -- it's delicious, and if you are really feeling in the authentic mode, there's nothing better than the congee with pork and preserved duck eggs. Seriously.“

“Restaurant Ding-Xiang: A gem in Montreal's ChinatownIf you're on the hunt for authentic Chinese street food in the heart of Montreal's Chinatown, look no further than Restaurant Ding-Xiang. This cozy takeout joint may be small, accommodating only two clients at a time, but the flavors it offers are anything but diminutive.Upon stepping inside, you're immediately greeted by the enticing aroma of spices and grilled meat that permeates the air. It sets the stage for a delightful culinary adventure.During our visit, we indulged in a selection of delectable dishes, including the mouthwatering Chinese crêpe, flavorful beef skewers, tender squid tentacles, and delicious fried steam buns—all for a surprisingly reasonable price of $22. The chili spice used as a dry rub was a unique touch, and while I appreciated the preference for dry rub over oil, I must admit, I'd have preferred a bit more heat. For those who crave fiery food, a bolder chili kick would be a welcomed addition.Restaurant Ding-Xiang proudly offers tapas-sized portions, and they live up to their promise in delivering satisfying flavors despite the smaller servings. It's worth noting that the restaurant is not wheelchair accessible. However, due to its intimate size, it wouldn't be difficult to get the attention of the attentive staff even from the entrance, should assistance be required.Overall, our experience at Restaurant Ding-Xiang was delightful. The flavors and aromas took us on a culinary journey, and the reasonable prices left us content. The taste of their street food is enough to entice me to return for more. If you're a fan of authentic Chinese street cuisine, Ding-Xiang should be on your must-visit list.Vegetarian options: There are multiple vegetarian options available at reasonable prices.Kid-friendliness: The tapas portion will appeal to all ages.“

“I visited this place with my family after we received quite a few suggestions and this place did not disappoint!Recommendations we have are that we were hoping for lemon and lime for the sauces, maybe some garlic as an ingredient for the hotpot. Maybe some different drink flavours as well (there was water, fanta, coke, plum, watermelon, sprite). The AYCE aspect was perfect for our family and allowed us all to get our own ingredients whenever we wanted and it was very self explanatory. The staff were so so kind and helpful and came to refill our soup bases with hot water! There were sooo many options of ingredients that we never usually have at home, so many different meats and veggies. There was a lot of space and it did not feel too packed, and the soup bases we were allowed to have two per pot! In total, we had two pots and ordered four different soup bases with a divide for each pot. We loved the mushroom, clear and tomato broth, while the sour spicy one was a little too spicy.Definitely think we will become regulars at the place (my family and i)!“

“Food that restores your appetite. The idea of going out to a restaurant usually generates cheerful anticipation. It’s an upcoming gratification that makes us salivate, a treat at the end of the week that keeps us motivated when the hours at the office make us languish. To make the most of these rewards, it is better to space out the visits. For some, one meal out a month is plenty, for others, it might be once a week. By analogy, it's like ice cream or any sweet dessert: moderation tastes better. So, imagine that in my case, with the Beijing, I went to four restaurants in two days. Of course, I love discovering new places, but I was totally on the verge of disgust. Now, nothing to help my cause, I had in my hands a menu of more than 200 options with around ten illustrations, enough to come back around fifty times in pairs and never have the same dishes! A torture for those who, like me, do not like to choose.Additionally, very little energy was invested in creating any “atmosphere” or visual signature. Basically, it was a room without music with tables, chairs, pictures of food and two big dragon heads. This is the scene. What about the act itself? It was an entirely positive performance and from my first bite, I found the pleasure of eating again. In addition, the staff, apart from the manager whose somewhat imperious manner “intimidated” my table companion, seemed friendly. Even behind their mask, we could make out a kind smile. We tried our luck with the delectable duck soup whose aromas took us on a journey, the pork chops with pepper sauce (excellent), the fried noodles with shrimp (once again, excellent), and very good ravioli with a peanut sauce. The portion size is surprising, considering the price! Once again, a Chinese restaurant that demonstrates unparalleled generosity. You can easily get by for around fifteen or twenty dollars per person. Moreover, the popularity of the establishment cannot be denied. At exactly 5 p.m., the tables were almost all occupied and soon there were people waiting for us.In the end, I'm grateful that my friend wisely chose Beijing for our second food stop of the day, since the food is very good there. Note for your possible visit to Chinatown!P.S.Congratulations to my friend for learning how to use chopsticks!Vegetarian options: Even with two hundred choices, it is mainly carnivorous options that abound.Parking: Chinatown, good luck.Kid-friendliness: Yes, but I don't know if there are high chairs.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes.“
