Covid Takeout series # 5 - I heard about Spicebros and their fusing Indian food with poké bowls-type serving as well as their "frankie rolls" (I know them as naanwich elsewhere). For this first visit though, I had a craving fora Channa Samosa which is an Indian snack of a samosa, smothered with chickpea curry, a sprinkling of diced tomatoes and cucumber, some shredded lettuce, and their different signature sauces. I thought it was a generous serving for $7 and the neon green coriander sauce was awesome. It had strong enough hint of spice without being overpowerful for me. Definitely an interesting pop of flavour combinations, hot and cold, sweet and spicy. I hope to try their butter chicken bowl my next visit.

I called from the road to place a order for pick up 1 Frankie roll& 3 bowls. I was told it would be 20 minutes, when I arrive at the restaurant inside to pick up (COVID mask and all) I was told it wil another 5 minutes. Then the guy I originally placed the order told me it would be better if I stood in like to place my order because they were too busy to make my order. Can you believe that!! After waiting 25 minutes. So I went to pizza Spanos and get him the 80$ instead.

We have enjoyed eating at SpiceBros all 6 times we have stopped in Montreal 6 times over the past year. We've tried their bowls, rolls, samosas, and lassis for lunch and dinner. The food is fresh and fun fusion. The portion sizes are great and can easily be shared. Love that we can customize and pick our sauces. We love mixing and matching the wu tang mayo, west coast coriander, and apple mint sauces. Lately we've been trying the scorpion sauce as well. While the scorpion sauce is pretty mild, the scorpion sauce xxx has a fun sting to it. During the pandemic, they have consistently complied with local guidelines and we've ordered through the app with pickup at the door at times. And at times, been able to go in and order at the counter. The look of the restaurant is cool too. They have nice decor, including a cool Andaz Apna Apna poster.

If you like spice this is a good place to visit. Easy quick ordering with a variety of great options and good food makes this a great place to stop for a fast, casual lunch or dinner.

Spicebros is one of the coolest and funnest restos in Quebec, and everyone needs to check it out. Their decor is ultra instagrammable, from a mural depicting Montreal through Indian colors, a NaanMaste neon light for your cute yogi selfie vibes, to a wall full of old school Limca bottles. Their food selection is even more fascinating - Indian cuisine merging with western dishes. There's something for everyone. You need a quick but filling bite? Get a bro-go (kebab disguised as pogo). Need a cheat meal that'll satisfy your wildest food fantasies? Try out the butter chicken poutine (made with garlic potatoes, wuttt). Want something healthier? Get the bro-bowl. Spicebros also has excellent customer service, they often have good promos and deals (even though their pricing is more than fair and they should be charging more), and staff is always friendly and accommodating. Spicebros is a real experience worth having, the ambiance, the unique food items, the catchy logo, the naming of the different dishes - you'll be sure to get a blast!

This is the first time we tried ordering Indian food in Montreal. We felt we were adventurous enough to order take out and explore other cuisine while we were in Montreal. We ordered a Crispy Fish and a Butter Chicken bowl dishes which came with Basmati rice.I was familiar with Butter Chicken and who would go wrong with Crispy fish so that is what I ordered. They added coleslaw, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, green peppers and enhanced with your choice of sauce, including Wu-Tangy Mayo, apple-mint,and scorpio sauce. Both dishes did not disappoint. They have huge portions that one order can be shared by two persons.

I have been wanting to give this place a try for a while. The menu is pretty straightforward. A roll or a bowl. I tried the bowl. Took chicken (cannot even recall which one, uh-oh) with the spiced potatoes and grilled veggies and the wu-tangy sauce. Hmmm. Word of advice. Take a pass on the veggies, was the weak point in an otherwise good bowl of food. Bought the mini samosas. They were mini. But my daughter really enjoyed them. The staff was really nice. Having read the reviews about the naan. I will give it another try soon.

I had the butter chicken wrap. The naan was good and fresh but it is a bit too fast food. 15 dollars for a trio. Not yet convinced.

Different type of experience...choose your own mix of Indian food. Cafeteria type service....food very tasty and definitely worth a try.
