The owner made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in; Bofinger has a warm, friendly, homey, neighbourhood vibe. There were eight of us, and everyone raved about the delicious food and attentive service. We were all first-timers at Bofinger and, without exception, agreed that we would return to this lovely establishment at the drop of a hat! “Hole in the wall place, almost literally. They only take cash or e-transfer (not sure what that is honestly). There are two menus, one for meat and one for meals with rice. I opted for a two meat combo with crispy pork and crispy duck (which added $2 to my bill, alongside rice and a few pieces of marinated cabbage. The restaurant itself is so small that there aren't any tables or chairs so I got it to go, went back to my hotel, and enjoyed a delicious meal. After a roughly 20 minute ride back to my hotel, the skin on the meat was still crispy and everything was still warm. The meat was moist and flavorful with the perfect amount of both sweet and savory with quite the pronounced hint of Chinese five-spice. The meal is incredibly simple but done very well. The restaurant is a bit of a shock upon first glance but the staff are incredibly kind.“

“We popped into Restaurant Jano after we spied the board out front advertising chicken quarters. We were happy to see many other delicious entrees on the menu. I ordered what turned out to be perhaps the most delicious lamb chops I've had in my life (one of my favorites whenever I have the choice). The host was welcoming and made us feel relaxed right away. The bill was surprisingly small for such good food. I could not feel any better about this place. 6 out of 5 stars.“

“To get a good spot (and avoid lines) at this Korean barbecue restaurant, it's good to come around when they open at noon, especially if you have a group. The food and side dishes were great as was the kimchi pancake appetizer. There is a vegan kbbq set (also works for vegetarian), which was a very happy find. The service was a bit confusing. Our first server explained we needed at least 2 sets to order and we took time to decide. Then when another server came he said we actually have to have one set per person. The side dishes were never refilled or asked about because we were rarely checked on until it was time to pay. This environment would be great for small to medium groups. Make sure to order everything at the beginning. It will come out in waves but the servers don't come to check much after all food has arrived. The bill could not be done individually or even split so we had one person pay and had to cash app each other back. A bit of a hassle but I guess it saves time and fees for the restaurant. She boasts an incredibly bubbly and friendly personality; both talkative and quick witted.
