“I had the fried curry chicken dumplings made fresh which I enjoyed with the soya blend hot sauce on the table. The spring rolls are a great appetizer. The menu offers a variety of choices served with rice and salad. Simple seating and atmosphere but if you're hungry enjoy!“
“Please please please do yourself a favour and go check this hidden gem out! We went for lunch and it was so good that we actually came back for dinner! Food was so good! I’ve been to many soup dumpling spots but this one was by far the best! Even better than Din Tai Fung! The staff were very efficient and helpful! I can’t wait to come back again!“
“Ji Chang Fun is one of my Cantonese favourites -- stuff my mom and grandmother used to make, that I delighted in. I frankly can't be bother to make it -- actually, I have almost no idea of even where to start. So Ji Chang Fun is my go to for this delightful food when I'm feeling the need for old school ji chang fun and congee. The food here is very authentic -- relatively inexpensive, quick service, and like most authentic Chinese restaurants leaves a little to be desired with respect to atmosphere. But it's pretty reasonably priced.Have the beef/shrimp and Chinese cabbage -- it's delicious, and if you are really feeling in the authentic mode, there's nothing better than the congee with pork and preserved duck eggs. Seriously.“
“Amazing food. Got the sausage and relish bun, custard filled bun and the steamed cake. Everything was extremely fresh and very affordable. Went there multiple times during my trip. The service is efficient and the people working at the store are very helpful. Make sure to get a bao next door too!“
“My mother ordered several dishes to celebrate my birthday. A pad thai, fried rice, a general tao, spring roll, egg rolls, chicken so guy, chicken with cherry sauce, salt and pepper fried squid. These are the best fried squid I have ever eaten in my life, tender, not rubbery at all. Everything was delicious and delivery very fast. We were even given Singapore noodles as a bonus. I highly recommend it.“
“Been coming here for years! My girlfriend and I are some-what dumpling enthusiasts and have eaten at most dumpling restaurants in the city. This one is definitely one of our favorites! The staff is always friendly and the food is fresh and delicious. (Highly recommend the Cha Siu Bao).“
“Went to Chef Tang for our Chinese cuisine weekend cravings. Their dumplings are simply divine, bursting with flavor and the right amount of saltiness that doesn’t overwhelm. Our orders were prepared promptly and steaming when they served the food and they were all freshly cooked.I was hoping to find more soup selection in the menu but what we ordered (hot and sour soup) was equally delicious. It was perfect for the wintry weather.Fair price for the quality and quantity of food and of course I have to specially mention that their staff is very attentive and friendly. ??The tables and utensils are clean, the ambiance is inviting too. This Chinese gem is a must-visit for dumpling and soup lovers alike. We’ll try their other dishes next time.Kid-friendliness: They can accommodate little kids, high chairs are available. Though there may be a limited space for kids to stretch around.“
“Always a go to spot for food/ vibe when I’m in mtl! Service and atmosphere is always a 10/10. Our waitress Jaid !! Was amazing, super friendly and attentive! Made sure we were well taken care of the whole night, best service. Thank you so much Jaid for bettering our experience!“
“They open super early compared to other spots in the area and the staff are SO friendly! Service is incredibly fast and the menu has all the classics plus some special items. The food I got on this solo breakfast trip was amazing, great flavours, fresh, and priced reasonably. The only downside is the some parts of the restaurant atmosphere could use an upgrade, the seat covers are discoloured and the entrance has piles of random things everywhere. Since I’m just here for food I’m not too fussed about that so overall still would recommend and go again!“
“The food is pretty good, but they don’t respect delivery drivers. I placed an order with Uber Eats a while ago, and my order took nearly an hour and a half to arrive. I could see in the app that my food was taking a long time to be prepared. When my driver finally received the food, they arrived at my home very quickly. I didn’t complain. It really wasn’t a big deal. However, when I rated my meal, I added the “Too Slow” tag on my rating for the restaurant. I’ve ordered from them multiple times, and my order took almost twice as long to arrive than expected, so that was an accurate assessment of the situation.Someone at Chez Ping had the time to respond to my rating by blaming the driver for my late food, telling me that I can use the app to track food prep and driver delivery progress. I already knew I could do that. That’s why I didn’t blame the driver for my food taking forever to arrive. I kept looking at the app to see why it was taking so long, and the food was in the preparation stage for ages. While the food is pretty good, Chez Ping’s willingness to pass their minor mistakes off on unsuspecting delivery drivers left a bad taste in my mouth.EDIT (because it doesn't look like I can reply): Since the issue is with the app, I would really appreciate you contacting them about it, not me. I get why the problem is happening, and it's definitely unfair, but since I can't actually fix it, being told about it sounds more like an excuse than a reason. "It's not our fault, it's theirs!"-type messages don't read well over the internet at all, even when you're in the right. That being said, thanks for clarifying the previous response. I hope Uber Eats listens to your feedback and updates the order progress bar so that it better reflects what's actually happening as the meal is being prepared.Looking forward to my next order from your restaurant.“
