The food was Excellent! Much better than expected. The place was a bit loud and there were a lot of kids but that can be attributed to the time of year. The prices were also very good, low for the quality of the food. Lots of space between the tables also meant you had privacy for conversations, if you could be heard above the children. On a different night it would have been quite romantic. The only downside was the service which was indifferent. Drink refills were non-existent and if you wanted something you had to get up from your table and go find a staffer. I believe we went a full 20 minutes without seeing any staff in the dining room. The diners were all looking around, confused. I believe that this night the staff were focused on a large group in a separate room but that doesn't change the fact that we all are paying customers and expect the same service. With even a modicum of service this would have been a five star review. The food was just that good.

Staying at the Hilton Laval/Montreal was glad to have a restaurant on-site as a detest traffic and Montreal had some of the worst in Canada. I chose a seat at the bar and was promptly greeted and offered a beverage. There are four beers on tap, with a reasonable wine selection and full bar. Being a connoisseur of craft beer I tried a 20oz glass of a local brasserie, Archibald Joufflue $11. For my dinner I chose the Le Quartz burger which is ground on-site and hand pressed. The burger is topped with brie cheese with the option to add bacon served on a brioche bun and a side of fries $22. Props as this was a delicious burger. The creamy melted brie was a great addition to burgers is never previously considered. I finished my meal with dessert, crème brûlée, why yes please. Very enjoyable with, the caramelized sugar on top was perfect to my liking. $11 and worth it. I will have dinner here one more time before leaving Montreal.

I stayed many days in the hotel and had dinner and breakfast a few times. Employees were nice and kind. Breakfast was good too. However I would not recommend it for dinner, I tried different dishes but none of them was really tasty. I would suggest to update menu and/or improving the recipes

Everything I have had so far has been good. Flank steak is crazy tender. Chicken sandwich was tasty. The ragu was very good. Tiramisu was amazing. Servers and bartenders are friendly. Very good for a restaurant in a hotel.
