Lack of taste in Pho soup, more fat than anything else. English service only. No toilets available. Hard imperial rolls probably not of the day. 3 people.

Hi so I’ve never visited the restaurant, I always order from Uber Eats. I see a lot of bad reviews about sandwiches which I’ve never tried. Pho is all I order because the noodles are the BEST in town. They are thick and sticky, everywhere else is so thin. They really nail their flavour of pho and I love that they have a filet mignon beef too.

A little worried at the sight of the comments but pleasantly surprised. I ordered their Pork Bahn Mi and Chicken Satay Soup and it was delicious.

My craving for a savory Bánh Mì sandwich led me to the doors of Bánh Mì 79, conveniently located in a bustling yet accessible part of the town. The ease of finding a parking spot set a positive tone for the experience ahead. The interior of the restaurant exudes a subtle charm, with a warm and inviting ambiance complimented by the courtesy of the staff. My order, a spicy lemongrass beef Bánh Mì, was delivered with efficiency, and its size hinted at a satisfying meal. The first bite into the warm, crispy, yet soft bun set the stage for high expectations. However, the unfolding experience did not fully align with the initial promise. The distinct flavor of lemongrass was absent, a notable omission that made the sandwich fall short of authenticity. The coriander, although fresh, was poorly presented, hanging untidily out of the sandwich. The toppings were sparse, and the beef was chewy, not offering the tender, succulent bite one would hope for.The request for a spicy kick was inconsistently met; the spice was concentrated on one end of the sandwich, leaving the other bereft of the desired heat. Each bite presented a fluctuation between the contrasting worlds of spice and blandness. In conclusion, my visit to Bánh Mì 79 was a journey through highs and lows. The restaurant delivered on speed, service, and the quality of the bun, yet faltered on flavor consistency, presentation, and meat quality. The experience, although not entirely unpleasant, was ultimately unremarkable – satisfying the immediate hunger but leaving the deeper craving for a truly exceptional Bánh Mì unmet.

DON’T EAT HERE! (I rarely leave negative reviews, but this place is absolutely awful.)They DO NOT pay attention to any small requests, such as ‘extra peanuts’ or ‘extra hot sauce’.The Pad Thai had way, way too much flavourless sugar sauce on it. Not real Pad Thai. All noodles and sugar sauce. The Chicken Vermicelli was all noodles again. Very bland and made from cheap ingredients. Also, the older woman who took my take-out order definitely wasn’t focused on friendliness - or even verbally acknowledging me. No eye contact and she shooed me out of the restaurant when I asked if they had double-checked my order. They had not.

We’ve been here a few times and have eaten inside. It’s more of a fast food style sit down over a restaurant. They have high tables and stools to sit on. This time we ordered the beef pot Thai and the barbeque chicken vermicelli with two imperial rolls. The imperial rolls Were not as crunchy as expected, kind of felt like they weren’t made fresh on the spot. The dipping sauce was enjoyable. Even though you’re ordering to eat in, they serve your food in a box, not sure how I feel about that. I guess it could be a good thing if you can’t finish your meal and would like to take it home with you. You have chopsticks option and they do also have forks if you’re unable to use chopsticks. The barbeque chicken was good. They offer either fish sauce or soya sauce as a dressing. The beef pad, Thai, however, was slightly more flavorful. It’s best if you’re walking to this restaurant since parking can be difficult to find on Saint Catherine Street, it’s also possible to find a parking garage nearby to enjoy the area on foot.Vegetarian options: Tofu banh miParking: There is parking on either side of Saint Catherine Street or access to a parking garage nearby

I’m Vietnamese and I can’t say much of what I ordered was authentic. I ordered from the restaurant via UberEats. We ordered a chicken pho and beef pho. Broth was acceptable but no sriracha was provided so if you order, make a special request. Pad Thai was bad - tasted of only hoisin. Banh mi classic was good but the lemongrass beef banh me had too much hoisin which over powered the flavour of lemongrass or of the vegetables. Should be a good balance of salty, sweet and acid. I think this resto caters to a more North American taste. Not for the real Viets or Viet food lovers.

The food was amazing and it’s a very nice and clean cafe. The staff was overall very sweet, except for Phong who was very unpleasant towards customers and made fun of them.

Cute little Banh Mi place near chinatown, really good selection of different sandwiches and bowls etc. Cute venue as well, easy to do takeout or dine in. Reasonably priced, and the staff was lovely as well. Went with my friend, I had the caramelized pork sandwich and he had the Vietnamese ham sandwich, both were delicious.

I’m originally from Southside Mississauga, home to many authentic Vietnamese eateries. So I’m quite familiar with what a proper Banh Mi should be like as well as cost. The sandwiches from this place represent a westernized take on the Vietnamese sandwich. The ingredients used seem to be mostly sourced out rather than prepared in-house. I couldn’t even taste any pâté, if they used it they used very little. It still was a tasty sandwich but this might be the most I’ve ever paid for a Banh Mi. They do not offer cups of water & service wasn't very warm either.
