When it comes to gluten free pastries, I’ve not seen a single bakery that comes close to what you can get at Boulangerie Le Marquis. I live in Ottawa but always come here when I’m in Montreal.I’ve had a lot of the tarts, but the Pain Chocolate and Croissants (both gluten free) are certainly the best. The dough is actually laminated, the way you’d expect a croissant to be. So many gluten free bakeries have let me down on that front but this is not one of them!You can buy them fresh or frozen. They store well in the freezer for up to a few months and are easy to reheat. Pictures attached are the pain chocolats reheated in the oven with an egg wash.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free. Best spot in Montreal to get gluten free pastries, everything here is gluten free.

It was toasty warm in here but the croissant was heaven I almost didn’t notice my sweat ? I wanted to get one of everything! The croissant was so good I had to go back and get another. Best gluten free I’ve ever had.

Very unfortunate experience with this establishment after having been a longtime customer. I had placed an order for a cake (far in advance) for a very special event and thirty minutes before I was meant to pick the cake I was told that not only were the cakes produced by a third party supplier but that this producer had been unable to prepare our order in time. Very unprofessional & mediocre customer service ensued afterwards. Ended up having to scramble and find another cake at a nearby GF bakery l. Would not recommend if you are looking for a reliable service for a special event.
