Stopped in at Brutopia on a solo visit to Montreal and have to say it was one of the best experiences I have had in a long time. I sat at the bar with a beer and quickly got talking to Sarah, the extremely spirited bar tender. She was frantic dealing with a million things at once on a massively busy day (Kiss Concert one day TOOL concert the next), yet still warm, funny and attentive, handling the manic situaltion with skill, precision and a wicked sense of humour, amidst expletives - just my scene. I was quickly adopted as one of the regulars and struck up conversations with a few of the locals, within minutes I was talking to several people about all kinds of things and I felt like I had known them for years. I travel solo a lot and am very happy in my own company, I'm not always particularly outgoing and don't necessarily seek out conversation, but this place and the people has a way of just drawing you in and making you feel at home. I liked it so much I went back again and again. If you are in Montreal do stop by this bar. Great staff, great drinks, great atmosphere, live music. Faultless! I cannot reccomend it enough!

I absolutely fell in love with this place! They make there own brews. They have about 8-9 different ones to try. The key for me was they live music. The band was amazing! That combined with great beers and a relatively low price makes this place incredible. It is loud and dark, but if love micro brews and live music, this place is a must do for you.

This place was a pleasant surprise.. we walked in and selected a table. Our server was great, offered good suggestions and fast service. The beer was reasonably priced at 8$ a pint. Tried three beer, had 16 wings, poutine and churros and our bill was less than 60$.. a great deal.. great value..pub atmosphere.. but good!!

Excellent beers and great service. Renata really went out of her way for us, showing us to the rear patio (way nicer than the front terrace by he door) and bringing out a few tasters for their beers. Settled on the "Oh Canada" rye beer which was a great session beer with the nachos. Not the most authentic Mexican food (coming from a Los Angeleño) but perfectly fine for pub grub and showed off the beer well (a spicier salsa would have ruined the beer).Would definitely look his up next time in Montreal!

I was looking for a close by local brewery and I came across this one. It was not much of a place with a very simple atmosphere and it had a few sitting areas outside that were on the second floor as you walk up to the bar and they were over looking the street which was pretty cool. It was a small cozy place that brews there own beers. I choose to sit at the bar; the staff was very friendly, service was quick and I ordered a flight of there IPAs beers and there simply burger which was perfect for me. Prices and food all were good. I enjoyed my beers and burger. It was a great experience.

Enjoyed the open mic experience. Many talented singers n musicians and a supporting audience . Great service staff n the prices for the drinks are reasonable. FUN ?

We came in for a couple of beers after we already had dinner elsewhere. They have a good selection of craft beer and are they are not to expensive. Service was a bit slow, but it was a very busy Saturday night, so that is a good excuse.

Great place with great atmosphere. I particularly enjoyed the random conversations I had with the regulars. Also the honey blonde ale was great

Decent, not great craft brews. Excellent food. Demographic is definitely for 30 and under crowd.

You want a local beer, and you don't want to go through the hassle of having to go out of your way to get the good stuff? You found it, it's brutopia. Period. From their selection of beers to the atmosphere, it's just an amazing experience. All brewed in house except their cider and stout.

Great place, great beer, great food. The singing...open night mic so you take what you can get, but overall a great time on my birthday. Our waitress, Frederick, doesn't get paid enough for what she does. Excellent waitress 5 stars!!!!

Loved our meal. Had the pulled pork sandwich. It was delicious and full of flavour. Fries were amazing. Not a fan of beer, although I tried the raspberry beer and it was nice. Friendly staff \\u0026 management. I would Reccomned Brutopia

Great atmosphere and vibe for when you want a casual pub experience, without everything being marked up for the sake of an overbearing aesthetic or gimmick like some other places. Good beer, good bar food, not too crowded. Can't ask for much more.

Place is a little dingy and service is a bit all over the place but every beer I drank was absolutely excellent. Well priced too, a pint was around 6 dollars and the food was very well priced for the large portion size. They seem to have live music often as well
