I really don't know what to say. It's my favorite restaurant in Montreal. The chef is not even Japanese but is SO talented. Every single dish you order is just 100% good. The vibe and ambiance is the best. It's considered a fancy restaurant. The service is impeccable definitely pricey but justifiable. The drinks are so gooood. The manager is the best. ?

About a couple of weeks ago, my friend and I had dinner here to celebrate my milestone birthday. We ordered several different dishes and they were all excellent; the food was a highlight! Delicious, creative, and good-sized portions.Where I was disappointed was in the cold service of our main waiter. The other wait staff (who refilled our water and cleaned the table between dishes) was great. The main waiter was efficient but strictly business, nothing more. When my friend told him it was my birthday and that he wanted to make my dessert special, it’s as if the waiter didn’t register it at all or didn’t care to. We ordered from the dessert menu and were served it regularly while other tables (including the one literally right beside us) received sparklers in their desserts for their own celebrations… ☹️Thankfully, the food made the night. Compliments to the chef ❤️because what struck me was the play with texture, which many restaurants forget about. It is this attention to detail that really elevated the food for me.

Food tastes good. The tuna and salmon tartare were expensive for the size. Papaya salad is good but lacks some flavor. One dish that was great is the Hamachi sushi and the desserts (caramel and citrus desserts). Service and ambiance are amazing. I would rate it higher if the prices weren't that high for the taste.

Manolo has the worst customer service! Zero Understanding i tried calling many times to cancel my reservation and no answer they charged 120$ for no show, are they starving to charge that much for a no show who actually called???! Manolo review your manners because if you had some you would never hang up in a client’s face. Never going there again!!!

Had not been back in a long while (pre covid) but Jatoba remains a great spot, fantastic quality food, and great service. Inevitably prices have gone up quite a bit, which makes this an expensive eat, and now more of a special occasion place for me. Regardless, still strongly recommend if looking for great Japanese fusion in downtown Montreal.
The food was divine! Cod, a delight. Super nice restaurant. The cocktails were delicious and very original in the mouth. But very disappointing in terms of service! The bossboys, the suites, the support team did their job very well, on the other hand, the server is one of the worst services I have had in my life. It's disappointing to eat so well, but to have such poor service. Guillaume was not attentive at all. I am a waitress and honestly I was really disappointed. But thanks to the chef and the rest of the team for the succulent food and the beautiful general atmosphere of the restaurant.

We had a great experience overall, starting with the affordable valet parking service, to the great ambience and nice decor, going through ordering our drinks, entrance and plate. The duck confit fried rice is a must and for petoncle lovers also try the plate they have. Also as an entrance the fried mushroom is great and the dynamite shrimp are made their own way and it's really good. Will go again
