Good Japanese food, but more fusion than authentic. On the salty side. Portions were generous, and drinks were tasty. The 7 samurai is a must try, and the matcha cheesecake was a great way to end the meal. Overall good experience!

We luckily got a table for four on a Saturday night. The place filled up shortly after.Fun menu. The big hits were the tempura prawns, fried calamari tentacles and fried oysters. The service was excellent. I didn’t get our server’s name. Long hair, green eyes, tattoo sleeve. They have a fun shot glass sake board for birthdays. They also offer free matcha cheesecake for birthdays.Clean and nice bathrooms. They even have mouthwash.

The service was average.Cocktails expensive, not very full of alcohol. The meals were good, carefully prepared and original. The high bill for the overall meal was quite disappointing.

Unfortunately, significant decline in the quality of service and overall vibe. Previously, exuded the charm and warmth of a traditional Japanese pub, which was a major draw for me and many others. However, during my last few visits, this unique atmosphere seems to have faded. One of the key aspects that seems to be lacking is the relationship-building with customers, which is integral to the Japanese pub experience. The interactions felt impersonal and lacked the hospitable touch that is so valued in such establishments.Additionally, the service was noticeably below par. The staff seemed unengaged and not well-versed in fostering the kind of environment one would expect in a Japanese pub. This change is especially disappointing given the restaurant's survival through the challenging COVID period.

Food is very basic for the price. Not worth it. Love the chairs though.

The food was okay, definitely had better izakayas in Montreal. But also...the drink where I had to JUICE? my own ORANGE??? Fellas, I don't think this is it,,, I don't think it's the right move for a restaurant with two dollar signs on

Update: I went back 1.5 years later, a completely different experience. The restaurant was full (Friday evening the week before Christmas) and the service was super fast. The dishes chosen were much tastier (I recommend the beef and cheese rice bowl, the gyozas and the karaage but not the beef udons).I would give 3.5The food is good and the prices reasonable but the portions a little small. I ordered the beef udon and there were barely a few pieces of meat. The service is bad, the restaurant was empty, there were 2 of us and the first dish was served in 5 minutes. The second on the other hand, still nothing after 20 minutes, we had to ask if it was coming so that it arrived 10-15 minutes later. It's good but not wow, with all the Japanese restaurants nearby, I wouldn't go back

I’m sorry, but the food wasn’t good ? The drinks are fine, but the overall experience was very underwhelming. Was very excited to try but very disappointed.

An out of the ordinary Japanese restaurant with a unique twist on its dishes. Although the menu is limited in choice, the chef could have expanded on it. The food is delivered rather quickly. The waiters can use a little more training and some smiles while serving or taking an order. And fix the toilet ?

It is in a superb restaurant which is hosted for dinner. We start with a good signature cocktail before embarking on a culinary journey that promises to be promising. We start with traditional dishes such as octopus marinated in wasabi, a mixture of texture, aroma and strong sensation. We continue with okonomiyaki and traditional chicken karaage. The flavor holds its own but nothing exceptional, it's good but it doesn't stand out. We continue with what I consider the best of the dishes served to us, shrimp tempura, delicious. We continue with a little American nigori sake, good, but a little too sweet. Unfortunately, the rest will be a bit of a disaster, starting with an assortment of pressed sushi (salmon, shrimp and eel) which lacked love but no mustard sauce, but still ok, but why offer this kind of dish if Isn't it about leaving with a good memory? We continue with a tuna tataki, probably barely defrosted which left a little to be desired in both the texture and the taste. And the nail in the coffin, frozen scallops on our plate, an acrid taste that made us put this dish aside doubting the freshness. Even if we weren't charged for the scallops, why take this risk in cooking on elements that we don't seem to have control over? No desire to go back with the amount of delicious Izakaya that exists in Montreal.Update: I sent down the memo because following the restaurant's invitation to communicate with them, I received no response. Damage!
