Authentic Mexican cuisine! The dishes are traditional, tasty and carefully prepared. The place is welcoming and very clean. We had brunch and tried the torta de tamal, sopa de tortilla, impossible cake and jamaica juice. We are very happy with the quality of the food and the price. Between $15 and $20 per person. The staff is super friendly, professional and cordial.I highly recommend this place.

Amazing tamales. We tried 2 of the four they have on offer. And their homemade hot sauce goes perfectly with them. Also tried the fried shrimp tacos. Really crispy battered shrimp, great sauce and perfect portion of 3 tacos. Also tried the pulled pork chilaquiles with avocado and egg which were out of this world. And of course the mandatory chips and fresh homemade guac. All that with 2 Jarritos came to about $65.It seems a touch expensive, but we did get a doggy bag and had enough for lunch the next day! So basically we managed 4 meals out of it.Nice selection of hot sauces to buy as well.

La Tamalera has gluten free Mexican food and is famous for their Al Pastor. I ordered beef Suadero and fish Tibu Tacos. The EV charging spot is just outside, steps uphill from Fairmount Bagels and Kem Coba sorbet (Caffe Grazie Mille) facing Pinkita/Standard drinks (boissons)…For a two-in-one dining experience, it’s debit or cash only for Drogheria: gnocchi Della Nonna there, if you like $5 takeout. La Tamalera also sells Mexican beaded jewellery and drinks, Jamaican condiments, and I bought a tub of salsa to go. It’s a tiny but fairly accessible location; and though the food isn’t brought to your table, the small servings were fresh and tasty. Cards are accepted, and bring your own plastic bag if you want to stock up on containers of homemade hot sauce!

The waiter asked me to pay when I ordered, before we ate, even though I made sure to let him know that I'm not ordering to go, it was surprising to me! I was with my family and they were sitting outdoors. The food is good but overrated maybe because of the sophisticated experience and being in Mile End. not better than other places in Montreal, I live in Jean Talon and I find it cheaper here.

Arguably the best Mexican restaurant in Montreal, the food feels and is very authentic. The staff is friendly, and the service pretty quick. The food is incredible, extremely recommended.

Had the Sopa de Tortilla and the Tibu Tscos, with fish deep fried. Both dishes had flavour and textural complexity. Rico rico!

The fried shrimp tacos are to die for. La panure est légère et "on point" tout en laissant la place aux crevettes. Perfect crunchyness. With those fresh and tasty shreded pickled veggies on top...Just wow! And their homemade hot sauce...Also to die for. So flavorful! (Must be fermented habanero or something). The place is beautiful and the service is great. I don't often write review but this had to be written, I somehow became addicted to their tacos after the first try! Need my weekly dose now. Everytime I try an other place, I'm mad at myself: It's never close to be as good as Tamalera tacos. Just go.

Used to be our favorite taco spot but i read a few reviews saying the owners changed and how quality isnt the same. I guess thats what it is because the food is not the same. Never had tacos look like this before and to charge 20$ for this uncooked and blood still in the meat. No thank you.
