Wonderful ambience and server was excellent. The Kampachi was delicate and sweet but covered with too many sesame seeds to let it really shine. Both the duck and the veal cheek were very well executed and paired nicely with the wine recommendation. Thank you for a fantastic evening.

I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant and I have to admit that it got to me...- I was still hungry after eating starter + main + dessert because the portions were so small. On the other hand, the flavors were there and the dishes we tasted were really good.- we felt snubbed by the waiter who was visibly more focused on serving the table of girls next door. Even though he gave good recommendations for the wine, he almost poured himself a full glass to taste. Which he quietly sipped during the service...- and the room was still quite noisy, difficult to enjoy a romantic meal.Conclusion: for this type of budget, you can find much better restaurants that will not disappoint you.

Tout est toujours excellent au Filet. Les huîtres miso et les gemelis sont nos classiques préféré mai tour les plats sont excellents. Nous y allons pour l'experience car le service est impeccable cette fois ci avec Nicolas et la nourriture est tjs excellente. Ca fait 10 ans que j'y vais et 10 ans que j'ai un excellente service.

The various reviews describe Le Filet as where you go to mingle with local celebrities or hang out at the bar with the coolest people. I also read somewhere that this is not the place where you take your parents - true my husband and I were the only silver hair couple - we did not recognize or paid attention to any celebrities - we were there to thoroughly enjoy another memorable culinary experience - and we did and we wish to salute Chef Yasu Okazaki- my husband had the ceviche and I had the grilled octopus and we both had the almond crusted halibut as our main course all the way to dessert- perfect portions and so flavourful - yes it's a very pricey restaurant as pricey as other high level dining we have been to. One negative comment, and it happens at the very beginning, is the wine we ordered by the glass.... The pour was rather limited designed to encourage us to order another glass - at the price charged per glass this was not a good first impression nor worthy of an elegant pricey spot - Both the meal and the service were outstanding.

The place is small but cozy and the service is excellent. Good wine list, even by the glass. Highly recommended the almond halibut. If I ever come back to Montreal, this is the first place to visit again.

I ordered the seafood linguini, the braised short ribs, the oysters (au gratin?), and the maple syrup square. Definitely the closest to a 10/10 meal that I’ve had in MTL. Also, very agreeable staff.

The restaurant is beautiful the atmosphere is really nice. You actually don't feel like you're on Mount Royal. The service was impeccable, the waiter was on the ball. The manager was kind, friendly and asked us about our experience as we were leaving. My only complaint is the portions, which were really small my husband left there starving.

La carte des vins est également excellente, la déco de l'endroit est de très bon goût et se démarque, bref je n'hésiterai pas à y retourner! C'est parfait pour une date en tête à tête ou tout autre occasion. Nous sommes chanceux d'avoir une offre de restauration de cette qualité à Montréal, c'est ce qui fait de notre ville une véritable référence culinaire. nous n'avons rien à envier aux reste du monde! 10/10
