A restaurant to avoid, expensive without being generous on the plate, expensive without delicacy. 189.54 with the 18% service (heavily imposed in the configuration of the payment machine - inelegance to the end). A glass of tax-free wine at 16.95 impossible to drink it (because I like Italian wine) bottle not presented, glass brought. Despite the fact that the waiter saw that I had not drunk the wine and pointed out the harshness of the wine, no action was offered. While my daughters, in the name of our Italian origins from Tuscany, wanted to find a little of our ancestors. We were sad to leave again far from the beauty and subtleties of Italy. To avoid. If it's authentic, tasty Italian food you're after then Trattoria Trestevere, on Crescent Street in downtown Montreal, is worth checking out.The cozy interior has a distinct European vibe, a great start to your visit.My starter, a Mixed Salad, was fresh and simple.I followed that with an exceptional Chicken Parmigiana. The chicken was moist and breaded just right. The tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese were so tasty and fresh.The pasta too was fresh and cooked to perfection.For dessert I tried the Fried Gnocchi, dusted with icing sugar, on a thin bed of Hazelnut sauce. Delicious!My only caution was a surprising lack of attention to serving etiquette. Each of the three or four Staff that served us, while generally pleasant, reached directly in front of me on a few occasions.I would certainly return to try other items on the menu.

Petit restaurant sans prétentions, à l’ambiance chaleureuse servant une cuisine Italienne traditionnelle. J’ai choisi ce restaurant car je voulais le faire connaître à mon homme. J’y suis allé il y’a environ 45 ans. Le service et la nourriture étaient tels que dans mes souvenirs. Nous avons choisi la soupe minestrone et la salade césar en entrée et le poulet et le veau parmesan comme plats principaux. Tout était délicieux.Je me dois de rapporter un irritant qui a un peu terni notre expérience culinaire. À notre arrivée on nous a apporté deux délicieux petits pains. Mon conjoint a demandé au serveur un autre pain pour terminer son repas. Ce dernier nous a informé qu’il serait facturé. Quand on m’a apporté l’addition, j’ai été estomaqué de voir que les trois pains étaient chargés. Considérant le prix payé pour le repas et que les pains ne sont même pas sur le menu je considère que c’est inacceptable. Nous avons aimés la nourriture mais cet irritant fait en sorte que nous n’y retournerons plus. C’est selon moi un manque de reconnaissance envers des clients qui ont payé une somme considérable pour un repas au restaurant.Du jamais vue !!!

Absolutely Delicious!! The service was impeccable. The fried calamari is out of this world!! We had the breaded veal and the lamb shank -they were both cooked to perfection. We will definitely be going back.
The place is small but very nice and has a comfortable atmosphere. Waiter was courteous and kind. I ordered the Ceasar Salad entrée to a Veal Parmesan with Spaghetti rosé side. The Ceasar Salad was incredible! Best dressing I've had! Veal was cooked perfectly and had great flavour. Pasta was good too, sauce was little watery for my preference. Overall a fantastic experience and I would definitely come back if I was in the area.Dietary restrictions: My friend has a peanut allergy and was fine eating there, he just had to mention it to the waiter.Parking: On a busy street so very sparse.
