I absolutely hate this place, way too loud and impossible to have conversations. Also, the crowd is full of creepy guys and preppy girls. Though, the sausage and mash potatoes were absolutely amazing! I really hate this place but my friends force me to come. HELP ME OUT OF HERE! I’d much rather go in a nice bar in Montreal where i can at least hold a conversation without screaming like a deaf person.

I ordered the homemade Irish stew. I really hated it. Maybe it's just not to my tastes, but it was not what I was expecting at all. I've had the Irish stew at Ye Olde Orchard and it's amazing, I've even posted about it before. Theirs was creamy and had a rich savory flavor of Guinness. By contrast this Irish stew at McKibbins was very tangy and sour, almost like there was vinegar in it. It made it taste like the soup was rotten or spoiled. I tried tasting individual pieces (carrot, potato, meat) to see if there was something I could avoid, but everything was saturated with it, especially the meat. The only thing that tasted good to me was the dollop of mashed potatoes on top and the bun that came with it. The bun was very moist and delicious with a subtle sweet flavor. It was a shame because it was pretty expensive, $23 before tip and I had to throw out the rest because I just couldn't finish it.Perhaps this type of Irish stew is more authentic and I just made a regrettable decision for my taste buds. I just wanted to warn others if they were similarly expecting something akin to Ye Olde Orchard.I will say that the pub had a nice atmosphere and the staff seemed very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Maybe they have other things that would appeal to my palate. The decor was charming, with a little matching door for "leprechauns".

The music is way too loud, not good music either. Whoever is making the playlists is definitely over 40, service was slow. Sad to see this place fall so far.

I used to love this place, but the food quality has decreased immensely. The fries are ugh, even the St Ambroise New England IPA is different and not in a good way. I had the French Onion soup and it was luke warm. On the flip side, the waitress was outstanding. However I won’t be going back anytime soon.

Quite an interesting place. McKibbins Pub in Montreal leaves a warm impression with its comfort and atmosphere of a real Irish pub. The menu is rich in traditional dishes and a variety of beers that will please both connoisseurs and beginners. Service is excellent: the staff is attentive and friendly. McKibbins is the perfect place to meet up with friends or enjoy an evening alone with a beer.
