“Ordered for take outs twice and satisfied both times. Prompt service, delicious ramen with healthy amount of toppings, and chashu pork is oh so tender and tasty. We prefere thick noodles for their chewy texture and wavy shape. Will reorder (^_^)!“

“Do you know the benefits of gardening? It’s an activity that unites my parent and I, and on this cloudy Sunday we toured two nurseries in Laval to get our hands on some spring flowers. (Yes, this is a review of Kinton Ramen, but I'd like to talk about flowers and dirt first.) A New York Times article, citing recent and older studies, described the benefits of taking a clod of dirt in his hands due to the presence of beneficial bacteria found there. My dining companion forced the bill (unintentionally) by soaking even her sweater in potting soil while handling a few pots, making her less presentable for a big outing to the restaurant. A chain ramen restaurant — she loves ramen — where she could sit quietly without attracting attention seemed like an appropriate choice for the circumstances. So, we went to Kinton Ramen at Carrefour Laval with our car filled with a precious haul of magnificent perennials.Founded in 2012 in Toronto, the chain reaches fans of the famous Japanese noodles by offering them the opportunity to combine pork, beef, chicken or vegetables with their broth of their choice (original, miso, shoyu and spicy) in a seemingly warm setting. and harmonious. The wall is made up of squares of wood glued to the wall forming a large chessboard in relief. By tapping lightly with the knuckle of my index finger, I discovered a piece that was moving and coming off. Unfortunately, it was not a trapdoor that allowed the opening of a secret chamber, but only a poorly glued piece. It would have made a great story, because I feel a little short of inspiration to describe the meal to you.The latter was about average, the traditional and shoyu broths that we tried being well balanced with noodles (especially the thicker ones) well cooked, and firm enough to have a certain bite. Our bowls were sufficiently garnished (mushrooms, seaweed and voluptuously tender meat) but the presentation was lacking in originality. For dessert, we focused on the ice cream which turned out to be true to its description: an ice cream that tastes like matcha. Ordinary. $6 for two small bouboules, anyway…Finally, a few words about the service that showed up at our table in the form of a well-felt “Hello/Haïye”. Friendly, keen to do the right thing, quite fast, despite the good occupancy rate of the premises at dinner time. One of the waiters with long, tousled hair seemed to want to break a speed record with a speech rate of 5 words per second, giving me the impression that he perhaps perceived the world as a universe unfolding in slow motion.Overall, it was a nice, if uneventful, little ramen stop. For my tablemate, it brought back memories of road trips, stopping at similar fast food places. Thus, Kinton Ramen is a destination to consider for a tasty Japanese experience without complexes.Vegetarian options: Yes, among other things, vegetable soupParking: It's at the Laval crossroads. If you can't find a place, you need new glasses.Kid-friendliness: Yes, it’s very family-friendly and accessible.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes!“

“Good value for money, flavors to match. On the other hand, no invoice except receipt of payment by credit card, therefore impossible to check the prices, which can be a problem if you have several dishes to pay. I had the chicken stir-fry (comes with vegetables and a bowl of white rice).“
