As a lifelong resident of Barrington, I have had my fair share of treats from Bagels Etc and they never disappoint. Although it’s been quite a while since I’ve been, I can clearly remember my mom driving me there in her VW Jetta back when I was a teenager. She would always order lox and cream cheese on a sesame seed bagel. My favorite was the Everything Bagel with Willow Tree chicken salad on it and it was delicious.I am very happy to see that this hidden gem is still in town and open for business. I’m also looking forward to bringing my son in very soon and when I do, I will definitely leave an update!! Thanks for making such delicious food and for being a wonderful part of my childhood memories!!

Would someone please explain why this place is hardly ever open for business? They are closed 2 days a week (why?), while the days they are open it's only for a few hours. This past summer they closed for several weeks because, according to a sign on the door, the owner had some kind of minor surgery, on his foot as I recall? (To quote a line from a show I once saw, when one of the characters had to cancel Thanksgiving because of her injured toe, another character asked, "Why? Does she cook with her feet?") I wish someone would open a decent bagel place in Barrington that is open more than a couple of hours a day, ideally by someone who wants to actually run a business that serves the community.

12/28/22: Owners jacked prices way, way up and took them off wall menu’s. $3.95 for a plain toasted bagel with butter? Surprising customer’s at the register is no way to run a business.

We ordered a platter from here for a birthday party brunch. Everything was provided as we requested. Staff is young, helpful and friendly. Tried a toasted almond coffee and loved it! So happy to find and support this fabulous local business!

We were visiting from New York and tried this place for breakfast. Bagels are on a small side and bacon and egg sandwich just was bare minimum and left a lot to be desired. cannot be compared to New York in any way.
Had a family of 4 sized order, one sandwich was not as ordered and inedible, also all the rest were not labeled and I have one gluten sensitive individual. But what did I expect from a bunch of high school girls.....

Bagels and salad were great. A lot of breakfast and lunch options (oreo cream cheese anyone?!). Establishment was clean. Staff was very friendly. The only reason I am not giving five stars is because one of my favorite things are egg and cheese bagel sandwiches. Unfortunately they use those microwave eggs. When I return (because I will!), I will get bagels or salads or wraps but wouldn't do the breakfast sandwich again.

Great food and great service! Everyone who works here is very nice and the service is fast - perfect for a quick morning or lunch stop. The food is really solid and their hot dirty chai is my favorite. Such a community gem.

I’ve been here twice the first time it took way too long just to make two sandwiches around 12 when it’s not even its busiest time. The place is filled with overstock drinks and doesn’t look nice. Second time I did curbside and they forgot something in my order.
