Four of us stopped in for a Sunday night dinner. First time at Bar 31 and nothing disappointed. The calamari was excellent and the baby back ribs were falling off the bone delicious. Family run and friendly as can be!

Julio has made the bar experience so memorable! He was an exceptional server, and we would definitely be back the next time we are in Bristol!

We had a nice dinner outside. My salmon portion was smaller than other restaurants we frequent. Was given sweet potatoes instead of butternut squash. Sides came out late. The au gratin potatoes weren't very cheesy. A woman was begging for money on the street and went up to other tables but luckily didn't approach ours. My boyfriend loved his meal! And the food was really good - cooked perfectly and delicious. Happy we found this little gem and will be back!

Sat outside during a 68 degree day and had a glass of Chardonnay and the guacamole and chips. My husband and I both thought it was the best guacamole we’ve had.

Ate here in July hoping to have a better experience than before but that was wishful thinking! Most of the tapas offerings are pretty good, but extremely over priced for the portion size. The atmosphere also doesn't match the cost when you consider we were seated 4 feet away from the restroom. You can literally hear and smell everything coming from the restroom. They need at least a curtain to make the small hallway in front of the restroom more private! Additionally, there was a young employee setting up silverware/napkins at the table right next to us. Very annoying to have utensils clanking right next to us! As a Bristol local I won't be back!

I had an amazing experience here, the food was so fresh and the drinks were amazing. The espresso martini was so so yummy!

As a local Bristolian, this is our favorite spot for local date nights in Bristol. The food is superb, drinks always hit the spot, the vibe is relaxed and the service is very personal and friendly. The restaurant is a family owned business that supports the local community and strives to always serve top quality fresh food. Definitely recommend to all. I will keep coming back every time I can.

Absolutely loved the food and the chef and his daughter really added character to the place. Ordered take out there when we first came.

Well, I haven't gotten food poisoning - yet, so that's positive. Mediocre. The wings were not crispy (probably nuked), the guacamole was made of pre-ripe avocados (not homemade) and the scallops nuked and didn't deliver. I liked the service, hence the gentleman "C" of three stars.

Excellent drinks for our group of five. The service was some of the very best I've ever experienced.

It was a dark and rainy night. The car battery had turned its last. Our dinner plans were long gone. We were hungrier than the trapped mosquitoes whining inside of the shadowy, dead Nissan. Somehow we managed to escape our stuffy, bug-bitten hell and found ourselves out in the steady drizzle, staring at a door. The sign above it read "Bar 31". We entered, damp and defeated, and planted ourselves on the nearest bar stools. A young woman greeted us with a kind smile and brought us menus. The options looked good, suspiciously good. To sooth our weary souls, we began with beer. It was cold, real tasty local craft stuff, and just what we needed. The food arrived promptly, but as famished as we were, we hesitate. It looked so...pretty! Once our eyes had briefly feasted we finally dug in. Our mouths were met with crispy panko crumbs and knots of succulent lobster bathed in cheesy, pungent perfection! This was no ordinary lobster mac and cheese! We both looked at each other with overjoyed surprise. Our gaze turned to the filet. Together we each ate our first delicate slice. It was....exquisite. Rare! Actually perfectly rare! The tender flesh practically melted in our mouthes beside the creamy zing of the Gorgonzola butter. It no longer mattered what a nightmare of an evening it had been. We had found a magical oasis of culinary delights. We were whole again.

LOVE this place! Always consistently good food and cocktails. They give you options for Tapas or entree sizes. Jocelyn makes an awesome espresso martini!

On the spur of the moment we decided to meet my daughter and her fiance' in Bristol for Mother's Day lunch and most of the restaurants were packed, with waiting lists that stretched past 3 or 4 in the afternoon. But strolling around to look at some of the antique shops, we passed Bar 31 and noticed its specials menu on the sidewalk. The owner happened to come outside, we chatted a bit, and he said we could eat outside in the sunshine and fresh air (which is important to me because of COVID). What a nice surprise it was. The service (the owner's daughter) was outstanding: warm and helpful. The food was delicious and well-prepared. I had the baked stuff shrimp, my husband had the soft-shell crab, and both my daughter and future son-in-law had baked cod which they said was prepared to perfection. The owner said he gets his seafood in fresh every day. For appetizers, my the two men had steak tapas which they said were fantastic, and my daughter and I shared a Mediterranean plate. For dessert we split chocolate cake, carrot cake and tiramisu, all of which were delightful. We didn't spend much time inside, but it was cozy and appealing with a homey bar. This is the kind of place you could see yourself going to once a week to see friends, catch a game, have a beer & a light dinner. Time and again I come back to the fact that SERVICE is the key. On an extremely busy day, we were welcomed and given careful attention, and the food was wonderful. My daughter's wedding is in Newport this fall. Will I be telling everyone to give Bar31 a try? You bet I will.
