Always a wonderful experience, romantic ambiance, linen tablecloths, very professional, warm, friendly waiter. We go here for special occasions. Still offered restaurant week menu which gave us lots of choices. Clam chowder, shrimp cocktail w/ 3 huge shrimp, steak fritter cooked just like I like it (med rare) and shrimp scampi. All delicious.

Service was excellent by Matt, our waiter. He was incredibly attentive, entertaining, and friendly! While the restaurant prices and ambience would indicate more upscale (ie Matt was wearing a suit and tie) the other wait staff were wearing sweatshirts and sweatpants or much more casual clothing. Food was only average. Coconut shrimp were tiny and chicken for the chicken piccata was tough. It took a lot of effort to cut it.

Chowder was awesome, as was the hot lobster roll. They had a dianlo shrimp dish on a temp menu that everyone around me seemed to love. They said they might make it a regular item.

Great view! Terrible everything else. Our experience started with the kitchen botching kids grill cheese. They burnt one side, then scraped the cheese off and flipped it over to try and hide the burnt side but then never grilled the other side. It's just kids grill cheese, just make it again. Just a weird way to start by screwing up toasting bread with cheese. Seriously, grilled cheese. We ordered the scallop appetizer which we then cancelled the order after our entrees came 30 minutes later without the appetizer ever coming. Then It still showed up on my bill but it never came to our table! It takes 3 minutes to make a scallop. And 30 seconds to take it off our tab. That's the 2nd strike on the kitchen and an eyebrow raise to restaurant management. When our entrees came, I didn't get what was ordered, Shrimp Scampi, but Seafood Scampi came. The waitress said I was so lucky because it has swordfish in it which I do not like. It was decent but not what I ordered. 3rd strike. To make it worse, our waitress tried to talk to the manager where we could hear them about how bad our experience was. He said it's coming out of her paycheck for anything we dispute. I heard her say it's the kitchens fault and he said its hers. We saw a discount on the bill but now I have to figure out if this is a typical Newport scam at this restaurant or if my waitress really is crying and out $50 for her shift. I paid the full tab plus a generous tip and not the discounted tab but feel like we were scammed The waitress was still crying on our way out when I paid The manager saw me, my wife and my hungry 8 year old who didn't eat their ridiculous grill cheese. He decided not to talk to me about how to capture more of my business in the future. He was big enough to yell at our waitress but not big enough to come to our table and apologize for his restaurant's performance. It was really weird and I can guarantee, not worth the pretty view.

Our dinner @ The Deck was wonderful. My fish tacos were delicious and plentiful. My husband had the fish and chips and loved it. The Coconut Shrimp appetizer and the Mixed Green Salad was equally as delicious as our entrees. Such a beautiful spot to enjoy a meal and watch the sunset. Great service too. We will definitely return!

My boyfriend and I were looking for a quiet dinner spot for our anniversary and we were so lucky to have stumbled across At The Deck. It's just off the beaten path and a hidden gem of Newport that we'll be sure to revisit. This was truly one of the best dining experiences we've had, from the delicious entrees and dessert to our wonderfully entertaining and attentive server and restaurant manager, Reggie. I can't say enough good things about our experience! This is a must try if you find yourself in Newport!

Delicious food for a good price with a great view. Our server Reggie was 10/10, attentive, funny, and described the food we had questions about amazingly! Thanks Reggie!! - J & the girls

Our waiter, Justin, was outstanding. Great personality, took care with our order (including issues with food allergies), definitely added to our positive experience. We were not sure about those blue/red lights (we ate outside), those diminished the outdoor dining experience. But, if they were heaters, that might have been nice. The scallops were sooo good.

Food was Meh... but the location is cool. Fun if you're just going to grab drinks and be casual.

Food was awful. Waiting 30 minutes for drinks. Everything tasted as if it was fried in the same oil as the fish was. Steak tips were bland and smothered in and masked with kikoman steak sauce.

Great experience! Five of us needed an impromptu spot to dine in Newport and several of the places we tried couldn't accommodate us. @ The Deck was surprisingly quiet (I wouldn't expect that to always be the case). The food was very good and the service was excellent! Joe was our server and he was friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be going back to check out the livelier scene on weekends and will keep it in mind as a quiet spot for a weeknight evening. I don't think you can go wrong. Give this place a go!

Live music, great views. Watch the sun set as well as boats and yachts. Layed back atmosphere, parking up the street.

The menu online when we booked our reservation did not match the menu when got there in person. I thought I was going to an upscale dining restaurant, but instead got essentially fried bar food at a sports bar. Which is nice, don't get me wrong. We still had a good time. But again... the online pictures and menu led us to believe we were going to somewhere different than where we actually went.

Took awhile for food and sadly the parmesan risotto with ham was disappointing as just all starch without taste of parmesan and very few cubes of ham. Wife's fried fish was very think piece so mostly all breading:( Waiter was fine and Reggie eventually came by and comp'd her drink and took 20% off bill and promised to review the matter. All in all place seems to be geared more for harbor drinking etc than fine food
