The Social Diary

La Forge Casino is a community icon restaurant that has been serving up family comfort meals since the Gilded Age! Easter Sunday was no exception, as the family meal began with a delectable selection from the brunch buffet. Eggs benedict two ways (original and Florentine), ham, salmon, chicken, sausages, bacon, pancakes, potatoes, mixed vegetables and more was plenty to satisfy. The staff were kind, accommodating and friendly. The atmosphere is historical and seating overlooked the grass courts of the International Tennis Hall of Fame. We often make a beeline to La Forge Casino for lunch or dinner. Check out their dinner specials.

I loved it, the excellent service Conexion Latina held an event in this place for us and it was fantastic, in addition they took a cake to share and without asking they brought us plates and cutlery. the view is great!

I was last in La Forge about 15 years ago and it was charming and historical and casual. My latest visit shows that they hugely expanded and are now all about trapping tourists. I was there on a Saturday night at 5 pm and was sat at a wobbly table in room with 35 tables and I was the only guest. I ordered a pint of Stella and it arrived warm in a cold glass - which I sent back. I ordered the Lobster Bisque - it was fine, I guess, no lobster meat, just the creamy soup version. I also ordered the Cobb Salad and the Chicken Parmesan which arrived together and it reminded me of the kind of food you would get at a Denny's - you know, the kind of restaurant that has menus with pictures of the food? It was very disappointing, indeed. I took a few bites and then asked for my check. There was also rock music blaring from a cheap sounding sound system in the adjoining bar - maybe just a radio? Definitely not recommended and won't be returning.

Had an absolutely lovely dinner here with friends. Completely decked out in holiday trimmings it felt post card perfect! But what’s even better is the food was just as pleasing! The service was warm, friendly and attentive. Also, we were entertained by some live piano music throughout dinner and at the end enjoyed a little singing ourselves.Favorite meal items:Delicious onion soup!Crazy good meatloaf! The Old Fashion was prepared perfectly!Everything was tasty though. And we can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu items ?We will definitely return to this charming Newport favorite.

Jennifer the bartender is the absolute best! She was so attentive to a large group of us who showed up early and she opened the bar just us. She really understands customer service and makes awesome drinks!!

Slow service, luke warm food. Waited roughly 30 minutes after ordering for just drinks. Nothing complicated just coffee and coke. Over 45 minutes for simple brunch entrees. I would expect this if they we’re busy but most of the tables were empty and groups seated after us were served and finished before we even saw the last members drink.

We thought this restaurant was a decent place to eat if your visiting The International Tennis Hall of Fame. Restaurant is located on the same property as the museum and there are tables outside where you can dine with a view. We were seated inside with a lovely view of the grass tennis courts. For lunch we ordered a chicken Caesar salad and a chicken Cobb salad. Both salads were good, no complaints. Our very friendly waitress made me the most delicious Apperal spritz! I would go back just for that cocktail! We enjoyed our lunch here!

I was with a small group of friends as part of a reunion. We had reserved and we all had separate brunch orders. The Food was fine and the service also. However when we got the bill everyone had an extra 3dollar surcharge on their bills. Because we were more than six people.Nobody knew about this and the logic is BEYOND ME!!! Do you not want as many customers as possible??As an ex resident of Newport who would often dine at this restaurant when I visited I can only say--NO CHANCE IN THE FUTURE!!!

Not a good experience! The menu is dated the food is bland and the staff is inattentive! The only reason it got two stars for atmosphere is cause the over 70 crowd was singing karaoke in the bar.

Waited an hour for our food, which was only soup and sandwiches…left before arrived thanks to the MOUSE that was running around between the booths.

Nice place in Newport attached to the Tennis Hall of Fame. We went for lunch on a Monday in late summer. It was not crowded and had a relaxed atmosphere. The Waldorf salad with chicken was good. The lobster roll was on the smaller side and average tasting, but the prices were reasonable. We lucked out on street parking.

Food was great. Was a great meal at a decent price you would expect from a similar establishment. After being seated, the cup was filled once, order was taken, and we didn't have a waiter or anyone come by to refill the water till we asked. After about 35 minutes the food came out, and the waiter only stopped by once more when we asked for the check. Food was great, service was not

We found this restaurant after mansion tours and hours of walking. The food was great (lobster roll, spring burger, fries, and coleslaw): but the service was below average. It took about 15 minutes to get our food with a nearly empty restaurant.
