I'll start by saying they have the best tasting birthday cake I've ever had in my life, which says alot as I'm older and have been to many bakeries. On top of that, everything else I've eaten here has been delicious, be it the lemon pound cake with icing, the blueberry scones, the pumpkin whoopie pies, the list goes on. Exceptional.

Walking in, the myriad of wonderful aromas fight your receptors for attention. Very friendly folks! Everything I've tried has been topnotch! Get a Blueberry or Cinnamon coffee cake. Might have cranberry too. Melts in your mouth. Heated up with Kerrygold butter, your fave hot beverage, and boom, yer day is off to a bang!Parking: Parking behind building is free, with metered parking out front April 1 to Dec 31st

I've only tried the Irish Soda Bread, but it was terrific. I plan to return and sample more of the baked goods, and I will update. I felt the Irish Soda bread deserved a review all to itself.

Audra and her staff have always been friendly. I love the coffee with coffee cubes, obsessed with the cinnamon rolls, cream cheese brownies.......AND the stuffies are great spicy. My large dog LOVES her peanut butter cookies (he gets a tiny bit). They always show so much love to him too. We all have bad days and stress. Don't let bad reviews keep you from stopping by!!Yes, dogs are allowed in here. Dogs are allowed in many different coffee shops/small food places (examples: Empire Tea & Coffee, 7-11, and Get The Scoop) in Newport. It does not mean the place is unclean!

The baked goods are ok, decent for Newport but there is a serious shortage of food bakeries here. The owner is very nasty to her staff though. Every time I’ve been in, half dozen times this summer at least, the owner is scolding a staff member (usually a young girl) over the most trivial things imaginable. It’s genuinely uncomfortable. I won’t be returning because of this, I don’t know what the owners deal is but she is so cruel to her staff, there’s just no place for that in society. Very overpriced too.

They are cheap as hell and reuse old dirty dish water to keep the water bill down - meaning most things don't get washed and when they do they're being washed with cold water that's been contaminated with buttercream.Baskets/trays and other serving items don't get washed, they just throw a piece of parchment on it, or flip the old parchment over...The icing piping bags do not get emptied, just thrown on a table and then filled and filled over again. There are so many health code violations.

Really the best cupcakes around. That's all I've had so I can't comment on anything else but the cupcakes and mini cakes are delicious. The (dark haired) woman taking my order was friendly and helpful. The reason for 3 stars was the angry blond woman (owner?) in the back doing the decorating who screamed out "what does he want, I don't have all day!" when the front desk person asked me what I wanted on the mini cakes (I asked for balloons but got flowers anyway). Unfortunately the poor front desk woman looked embarrassed at the exchange. It was not her fault. I felt bad for the front desk woman working in such a toxic atmosphere. Why such chaos? This is a bakery, not the stock exchange!

Audra did it again, a wonderful cake of the 1583 John Dee Newport Tower, America's best kept secret!
