Service: non-existent. Who was at the counter? It was the manager who had to cover for her miraculously disappeared employee. However, the tip jars are promptly placed in several spots on the counter, so you would expect they are looking for a reward for their “exceptional” service. Bathrooms: should be cleaned. Really. And how about their famous Asian Chicken and Fuji Apple salad with chicken? Shouldn’t chicken be present? Or do they think mediocre quality greens would suffice for a “low” price of $12? How about parking? Good luck finding it! And it was a weekday when we visited. Never again.

Completely messed up my order. I'd suggest going somewhere else because employees don't get paid enough to care.

My wife and I fancied a quick coffee and a sandwich before our ferry trip. The initial server who took our order was friendly and confident, thereafter things went down hill. Coffees took 10 minutes, server spilt one of them on the floor and they were both scalding hot. Another 10 mins passed and we didn't have our sandwiches (20 mins total). Only after requesting to speak with manager, the sandwiches appeared, apparently they had been prepared but forgotten. During our extended wait we observed lazy and untidy staff and that the establishment was generally unclean. Do yourself a favour and avoid!

Really shocked at the low reviews for this Panera. I'm in their sip club and I was pleased to see they had a Newport location, as we had been trekking around all day and were tired. At home I usually get the lemonade but honestly I just wanted a huge cup of water so I did that. My boyfriend always gets the large Diet pepsi. We also ordered two bagels to have for lunch because the tour we were on was from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. which didn't leave us any time for lunch. I also used the bathroom and it was relatively clean overall. To be fair we did not order any meals so I can't speak to the tastiness of those but overall it was a standard Panera to me.

I was staying at Marriott oceanfront property across street. I had a breakfast prior day at hotel that would have cost 35 bucks if not included in my stay. I on last day of stay missed breakfast cut off time at hotel. I stopped into Panera directly across street. I had an ice coffee and a breakfast sandwich on a bagel wih egg, bacon, cheese. I asked if I could get the egg scrambled on side with bacon, cheese and bagel toasted with h butter... the girl as cashier at counter was more than accommodating, friendly and I should have gotten her name to tell Panera bread corporate that that is exactly the Panera employee they want and should promote . Well I was expecting Newport tourists pricing vs. my other Paneras I visit that aren't in an expensive vacation area. Anyway entire meal was under 10 bucks and with a free refill of ice coffee ( or I hope was free). Excellent value and meal and all I needed . My only issue was the amount of trash I created for a eat in order ... Panera needs to get more green ... I got a bag with wrapped sandwich, containers, butter container trash.... I recommend for a meal fairly priced during vacation if watching your spending and use your vacation funds for cocktails on the oceanfront or a upscale dinner or outing.

Normally we avoid chain restaurants when visiting a new city but we needed a quick lunch and thought Panera would be a good choice. They were out of so many ingredients needed for the items we tried to order that we finally just settled for what they did have.

This Panera bread location is always slacking. Out of ingredients always and the salads look like they through all the ingredients in a bowl from halfway across the restaurant. The chicken on the salad is rubbery, slimy, fatty and old. Literally didn't eat one piece. Broccoli & cheddar soup was alright but very watery. Too bad this is the only location around here...

Absolutely disgusting. The food was soggy and tasted absolutely nasty. Panera is practically fast food. So expensive too. The inside was very loud and looked like it had not been cleaned in days. Skip Panera and go to a place that makes actual food.

Food is fine. Horrible restaurant. Out of order displays. Sold out items in systems, even though plenty available in display. No straws. Stock and utensils are just poorly maintained it seems

Very old salad, yellow arugula leaves and no response to complaint. Felt dirty. Don't go here.

Food was fine but the customer service was terrible. The employees were standing around on their phones and no one was preparing our food to go. We were on a time crunch and their service was slow and sloppy. Will not step foot in this Panera again unless things change.

Their nice sandwiches never disappoint. Always a step above other chains that sell sandwiches. Excellent coffee as well.
