Stopped in for a couple of drinks before heading to dinner. Just ordered the potato chips with caramelized onion dip and pickle dip. The chips themselves were very good served warm and crispy. The dips were disappointing, the onions dip was too sweet and the pickle dip was just bland. The portion was very large. Overall the service was good. Didn't really see many people eating, more of a drinking crowd. The place itself gives off a somewhat divey feel. They have an outdoor patio in the summer.

Went to have a beer on a 60 degree day, empty patio, 6 people in the restaurant. Was told while wife went in to purchase 2 over priced profitable beers that dogs aren't allowed on patio. Empty patio with propane on server turned off and refused service. appreciate the hospitality cant accomodate a 40 pound rescue dog when you have no customers. good luck you need it.

Poor management and rude employees. Could be better if they fix a few things.Update: No real change, best of luck if you go here.

Worst mixed drinks I've ever had. Told the bartender that the Old Fashion was not great, and I was physically removed from the bar and given no refund.

This place was nice for the atmosphere. If you want anything more than a beer or a liquor and coke look elsewhere.

Absolute dumpster fire. They do not want your business so don’t give it to them. Wanted to get beers at a high top on the bar and they said they’d kick us out if others want good. Ordered food and kicked us out for having a toddler. I don’t get it.

Came here to announce that the Speakeasy burger was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had ? ?‍ ?Big fan of PB&J on meat and the bacon, cheese, and bread were great. The fries were next level, too. Enjoyed the APA that the dude working there recommended and walked in while Blink-182 were playing over the PA. Solid dinner choice!

A very good restaurant in Newport! We ate copiously there because the portions were generous. Despite a somewhat dry service, the atmosphere is pleasant and festive. Several choices of local beers including the delicious Whalers APA! ?

After ĥaving a lovely and incredibly relaxing meal with my girlfriend at 22 Bowens, we decided to stop at this place to grab a nightcap before heading back to our hotel. The bar was relatively busy and the bartenders were understandably busy as well. We stood at the bar and someone lended my girlfriend a seat. So far so good! I patiently waited as the bartenders were moving about from customer to customer. The people to my left got served. The people to my right got served. One bartender was closest on my section. He was an older guy with longish gray curly hair. Maybe the guy everyone is referring to on the negative reviews? Anyways, he was a little busy. He passed by me three times. Upon the fourth time, I raised my hand politely ✋️ to try and catch his attention in the busy environment. It was a "hey how are ya" type of hand raise, not a "excuse me teacher I have a question" type.Well, he did not like this and promptly told me to leave the bar for raising my hand. He took my hand raise as a sign of disrespect for whatever reason. He was noticeably frustrated and angry, so I did not make a big deal out of it. I plead my case that I was only trying to get his attention, but it didn't matter to him. He told me to leave and find another place. So we did. We went back to our hotel and had our nightcap there. It was a pretty crazy experience, never thought I'd get kicked out of a bar for raising my hand. I honestly couldn't believe it was happening. It was so outrageous my girlfriend and I continue to find humor in the experience. It's like, in what world, particularly the service industry, is a hand-raise considered a show of disrespect? Lol no big deal, I will just find other places to give my business when we take our yearly trip to Newport.
