I’ve always been very happy with stonacres other location- great all around, 5 stars, today I visited the garden for the first time- the interior is considerably less well designed, worse though, the service was poor: skipped drink orders, food orders dropped at wrong seats, lack of follow-up; generally aloof staff. There was a party next to us with a child watching television on a tablet at volume- I had to ask them to turn it off because we couldn’t hear each other at the table- that should have been taken care of by the waitstaff, not fallen on another customer to deal with. The table wasn’t cleared after the first round until after the mains were being dropped- leaving the waitstaff reaching all over the table and too many plates being negotiated. Water wasn’t refilled, cocktails were finished and glasses not removed… The food: sushi was excellent, a little expensive for what it is, but only a little, and wouldn’t deter me from ordering again. I had the lamb as an entre ($63)- three chops, majority fat, very little meat on each, potatoes were excellent, asparagus was overcooked (and buried under the potatoes and lamb) - I almost sent it back… didn’t want to deal with it- had it been a $30 entree I might not have expected more, but it was the worst lamb I’ve eaten at a restaurant, and the plating didn’t help. Kale salad was maybe “massaged” kale- baby or lacinto would have been preferred. This was on a ~$650 check with tip… Would not recommend, go to primary location or elsewhere- maybe this is for the tourist crowd?

We’ve waited to try this restaurant for Brunch. The menu always looks creative with something for any eater. We visited on a Saturday for brunch. It was a casual vibe with hints of European fun like an in restaurant farmers market, hanging plants, lofty space and lots of sunlight. I especially love a cozy booth to enjoy a lingering time with friends over coffee, and this place did not fail to deliver! While the cocktail menu is extensive, I opted for a French wine from the Alsace region and enjoyed being able to get that - not often available! My counterparts enjoyed coffee and a Malbec.Let’s discuss the bottomless coffee mug! What a crowd pleaser! Only down side is it wasn’t piping hot — but warm enough I didn’t complain. We enjoyed a shrimp seafood dip with chips and a spicy drizzle - it was delicious with a somewhat Asian accent of flavors. My friend and I shared two entrees, the Salmon Toast and The Avacado Toast. They were both exceptionally fresh, and unlike other establishments in town the Avocado was fresh, not pre made in a jar. The smoked salmon had a beautiful texture and the pickled onions offered a great freshness to the pallet. The bread both toasts were on were seeded and whole grain - and they were soft on the inside, crisp at the edges - just perfect! The two men enjoyed the beef hash, and another enjoyed the steak and eggs. They loved the generous portions and that’s always a plus - because it means even with a creative, veggie and safe pod friendly menu, my hubby will return for “fancy” breakfast because the portions satisfy even the greatest of appetites.Highly recommend this place for a special brunch occasion and it was perfect for our alternate Easter celebration without the Sunday crowd and extra prices;)

Overpriced truffle fries. Thought it was a good idea to have for a snack. It was definitely the bottom of the bag of fries. Drinks were tasty. Service was good.

I took my parents and my boyfriend and his parents to Stoneacre Garden after strolling around Newport. We went sometime between the typical lunch and dinner rush. There were not a lot of full tables in the section we were in. We ordered our food from a waiter who was not very friendly and welcoming. We ordered a couple of appetizers including the Shrimp Chips and Crab Dip and the General Tso's Cauliflower. Both were really good! We then went on to order our meals from the same not-so-friendly waiter. I ordered the Grilled Steak Bowl and my boyfriend and his father ordered the Iberico Katsu Pork. The pork did not come out with the Katsu sauce on it and we were shocked that the pork was $28 and did not come with a substantial side (I think it came with a small pile of cabbage slaw). They felt like they were bothering their waiter when they asked for the Katsu sauce, but they regretted even asking because it was not great Katsu sauce. As for my grilled steak bowl, it was basically like a stir fry that I could have made at home, it was not worth the $32 price tag. That being said, this restaurant is in Newport, so you have to anticipate the higher prices on food. After we ate, we paid the bill and were relaxing at the table for a bit. The restaurant is open from 10am-6pm on Sundays according to Google. We figured it would be ok to stay at the table for a little and chat after our meal since there really weren't any full tables. I saw the waiter that had been helping us walk over to the lighting and starting turning on and off the lights in our section. If the restaurant was busy and full, we obviously wouldn't have stayed and taken up a table. I also always try to be polite and kind to waitstaff or retail workers anywhere I go because I had those jobs before and I know how much it can wear on you! After the lights were being turned off on us, we didn't feel welcome at that point and we left. I hate to give negative reviews because I love this state, I love small businesses, and I love showcasing the restaurants, but I can't in good faith give a glowing review of this restaurant. The food was mediocre and not worth the Newport price tag and the waiter was the worst waiter I've had in a long time. I'd hate to see what they would have done to a full table of people who were not as kind and easy going about it as we all were.

Adorable little pub. We got a Guinness and espresso martini and loved sitting for an hour or so. They also had some great oysters but no hot sauce. I ate 4/6 of my oysters because they were huge. Great ambiance and service. We went early in the day so it wasn't busy. Ultimately, so glad we stopped in! Thanks for having us!

Very nice ambience and a good spot for big groups. I would come back, probably not order an entre, but go for sushi or a bowl. Dogs are welcome! DO: + TUNA POKÉMON TACOS - delicious + SHRIMP TEMPURA SUSHI - delicious DON’T: - MISO GLAZED SALMON - nothing special, frozen salmon filet which is a shame - CHICKPEA BURGER - dry and lacked sauce - PASSION PROJECT COCKTAIL - tasty but don’t order if you’re expecting fresh passion fruit PRO TIP: if someone in your party is having an entree, have them add fries for $2 instead of paying $10 for a side. The servers could do a better job. They immediately arrived with the check once we finished which felt rude, especially since it was early in the night and seats available everywhere.

The atmosphere is very nice, well decorated and offers a lovely view, service was good, but it can get very loud if they have an event going on and the food is mediocre at BEST. We had a couple cocktails, Crispy Fried Chicken Wings that were served with a Sweet Soy, Bleu Cheese and Buffalo dipping sauce (which I personally hate when establishments do this, it's so hard to dip your chicken in those tiny dishes and you don't get the flavor) and we also had and order of Crab Rangoons... they were cold, and tasted just okay. It's definitely not anywhere I would visit again.

Sunday Brunch was truly amazing! The space is gorgeous, it's big with lots of natural light and greenery, making it truly represent its name "Garden". There is also a selfie wall & special event space. The manager served us and was so accommodating and helpful. We really enjoyed every aspect of our time here!

Delicious apps, food, and drinks. The whole place has a great ambiance. Huge bar with about.. I counted at least 4 bartenders. The drinks on the drink menu are something different but something for everyone. A must try.

A rainy night in Newport during seafood festival weekend. We landed in this tucked away garden themed restaurant. We were happy to get in and enjoy a good meal. Shrimp cocktail, ora salmon avocado roll, steak bowl.

My daughter picked this restaurant because they had outdoor seating for dogs and it wasn't a seafood restaurant. When we arrived the outdoor area seemed to be closed, but it turned that didn't matter as dogs are allowed anywhere. Menu was small. Service was fairly quick and the food was average.

Visited Stoneacre for sushi and miso soup and had to do takeout due to time constraints. I though the servers and host were very friendly and professional, but seemed unsure about the special I was asking about. Wait for the food wasn't long though, and enjoyed the small waiting area and fun music in the interim. Miso soup was quite salty to my taste, though, and I diluted it further at home. Sushi roll was fresh and featured 8 pieces. However, there are a few more tasty sushi options in town so the cost/value ratio means I won't be back for the sushi specifically -- but maybe for the good vibes and service!

First of all Matt our waiter was awesome. This was one of the better experiences I have had dining because of the pacing of each course. The first course was the Miso soup, great flavor, seaweed was a nice bright green and the strips were huge. The tofu also had a nice silky texture. Next was the Green tail specialty roll . I thought the peppers on top would be too spicy but when ate together the flavors blend perfectly. Especially with the wasabi, best wasabi's I have had with sushi in any local restaurant. Just wish they had more of it on the plate. Next course was the chicken wings , which I loved were all drums expect one. It comes with 3 dipping sauces sweet soy, blue cheese and Buffalo sauce . I loved combining the Buffalo and the blue cheese together. The wings were also a nice size, crispy but not greasy. Our last course was the steak Freitas . Steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly and so were the fries . I did not have to add any more salt or pepper to my meal, which is very rare for me. The fries were so good I didn't even want to each them with ketchup. Finally I love that this place is dog friendly! It looks really beautiful inside , nice open space , with lights and plants hanging from the ceiling.
