Delicious! We got the charcuterie board, Thai mussels, and the seared scallops. Everything was very tasty and the flavors were rich. Service was very friendly, welcoming and informative. Beautiful restaurant on the water! Would love to dine again :)

INCREDIBLE! My husband & I went for the first time today and both had some of the best food we've ever tasted. He had the famous lobster roll, which he said was outstanding, and I had the quinoa & kabocha dish which was so delicious!! We sat out on the patio next to the beautiful harbor, and the whole experience was just amazing. Very friendly and attentive staff! Highly recommend!

Great food…the scallop chowder was fab as were the lobster fritters…hands down Mike our waiter was perfect…great suggestions, (he suggested other restaurants in the area owned by the same company) great service…nice, knowledgeable and a great server…we came back a second night and requested to sit in his section…that is how good he is…Mike the manager is delightful as well…all the staff have great memories and were quick to welcome us back…ps Lauren the trainee was spot on as well!

Why in the world would you get rid of the bag of donuts?!? My family arrived offseason for a traditional stop to thee favorite restaurant in Newport and man oh man were disappointed. We love everything about this establishment except for messing with tradition. It honestly made the whole experience feel generic. Might as well go anywhere that serves seafood in Newport... Very poor leadership choice. Understand why you have history and embrace it, not erase it...

With all the hype for this place, my husband and I were really looking forward to our meal here. Unfortunately, we were both left disappointed and underwhelmed by the food. We ordered three different appetizers and 2 out of 3 were practically flavorless. The seafood was very good quality and prepared well, but basically devoid of flavor. The green curry mussels in particular were so bland, and I couldn’t detect the coconut, green curry, or lemongrass mentioned in the description. Truly the saddest “curry” I’ve ever had. The prawns were also very bland, though the sauce they came in was decent. The only appetizer we enjoyed was the crab cake, which was very fresh and tasty. Given the lackluster appetizers, we didn’t chance a main course, as this is a pricey place and we were expecting more. The restaurant is very beautiful and the staff were super nice, however the food just didn’t meet our expectations. Perhaps other items on the menu are better, but given our experience I wouldn’t come back, as it seems things can be very hit or miss.

I totally enjoyed the food and decor. I was impressed by the lovely lady that sat us, the service was amazing, and our waiter Dan was phenomenal. Today happened to be my birthday, Dan and all the staff signed a birthday card and gave it to me. This is a nice touch that i wont be forgetting anytime too soon. Love them all. 5 star plus across the board. Thanks guys.

September 2023-was a little hard to find during the boat show, but worth the walk. Would recommend reservations, but the evening we went we were seated almost immediately overlooking the wharf. Our server Dierdre was attentive and personable. The clam chowder was served hot with oyster crackers. I got the chilled lobster roll with fries. There were quite a bit of lobster that was very tasty. My husband had the halibut fish & chips & coleslaw. The portions were large & we took the leftovers back to our condo. Dessert was fabulous and we are so glad we made room. We split 3 cream puffs- lemonchelo, pistachio & chocolate mousse.

The Mooring delivers consistent and delicious quality food. Yesterday I had the crab cakes, which come with arugula on the side. It may be an appetizer, but it was enough for my lunch. I also enjoyed one of their mocktails, a pomegranate line spritz. It was very refreshing as was the six dollar price point. The French press coffee was very good as well. Service was a tad slow, but that seems to be the case. The ambience is cool, and it's great to have water views.

The food and service were exceptional! Our server provided wonderful and attentive service, complete with fantastic recommendations. We appreciated the diverse menu options, encompassing both seafood and non-seafood choices. We visited on a Wednesday, when the raw bar is 50% off, so we ordered some fresh shellfish from the Narraganset Bay. The restaurant's ambiance was great, featuring a seaside view and quaint oil-fueled lanterns adorning each table.
