Breakfast selections are awesome! One of the best breakfasts around. Sunday thru Saturday breakfast selections are available. There are many to chose from and are quite delicious. Service is spot on and coffee is hot and fresh. Poached eggs are great. Side orders are varied and delicious. Pancakes and French toast are also available and quite delicious. Modern diner makes a great breakfast and has many selections. Enjoy!

BE AWARE!!!I wrote this review 7 months ago and not one person has reached out to me regarding the concern. The Rhode Island department of health must not be aware of how badly the food and restaurant is kept!! Of course the prices have gone up and the quality of food way down!!The bathroom stinks like pee and It looks like the diner itself hasn't been cleaned in over a year. The windowsills were full of dust and there was a weird stinky farm smell in the diner! It smelled as it were coming out of it's air vents!! Which leads me to wonder when was the last time the filters were cleaned?My food was awful. My bagel with fried egg tasted like food from the fridge. I am not a picky eater and I couldn't eat it! The waitress offered something else, so I said ok " I'll have a grilled blueberry muffin." The muffin wasn't fresh and it tasted fishy and the "grilled muffin" was freezing cold inside which verified that the muffin was definitely not fresh. The worst part of this experience is that I still paid full price for food that was not up to par in any way. The waitress was nice but it would have been appreciated if she comped my food since I didn't eat any it. I won't be going back here anymore. Even if the waitress didn't bill me I still wouldn't go back to eat here. This diner used to be one of my go-to places but not anymore!

We were seated right away because we got there just before the rush. The food was fantastic! The people who work there are so friendly. A great diner experience!
I've always loved this place. Whenever I visit RI, I make this a must stop. This trip on Saturday was disappointing. We were seated quickly and the food was good. However...they told us we had to leave, saying we could only be there 45 minutes! First of all, we waited 10 minutes for menus, 10 minutes for our food and had to hunt down a place setting they didn't notice was missing when they delivered our food. I had to ask for a coffee refill. Servers were not friendly or helpful. So after all that, we were down to 20 minutes to eat, and get a coffee refill. When the manager "reminded" us we had to leave, we noticed almost all the tables were empty and the servers were standing around talking, a line of people waiting to get in. I don't know what happened to this place but I've scratch them off my list. I was never treated so rudely in my whole life at an eating establishment after spending nearly $90 for 3 people.

They are always polite. My meals are always ready to go when I get there. Service with a smile and delicious food is the key for me. Not to mention the custard French toast is out of this world!
